    Unexpected: Part 6

    Chapter 6:
    King High (the next day):
It was 8am and the whole gang was already at school. Alice, Shane, Bette and Papi were talking about a party that they wanted to throw. Every year they threw countless parties, it was that time of the year to throw one again.
“So, what do you guys think?” asked Alice. Shane, Bette and Papi looked at each other like they found Alice’s idea crazy.  “No offence Alice, but I don’t want to do a costume party,” Bette said and Shane and Papi agreed. “Then what are we going to do then for our first party this year?” Alice asked the rest of them. “I don’t know, but we do a costume party every year. I really don’t want a costume party anymore. Seriously,” replied Shane; Papi and Bette agreed.  “Okay! I get your point, but what else is there?” asked Alice looking at the 3 of them. “What if we do a pool party?” suggested Papi. “That’s not bad, we could have beers and snacks,” said Shane. Alice and Bette looked at each other; smiled and said in unison:”Okay.”
“So, a pool party? Whose house?” asked Alice. “Mine can’t, my father barely accepts me as I am. He won’t agree to a bunch of lesbians coming to his house,” said Bette. “Yeah, you’re right. Shane? You have the second biggest pool,” Papi asked Shane. “Yeah, it’s fine,” replied Shane. “Then it’s settled. Alice you do what you do best, spread the word,” Papi told Alice. “Bette you and Shane buy the beers and snacks,” Papi told Bette and Shane, “I’ll help Alice with the flyers.”

Papi and Alice kept discussing the flyer ideas and Shane helped them. Bette saw Tina arrive to school, Bette immediately walked up to her. “Hey,” Bette greeted Tina. Tina didn’t notice someone before her and then looked up and saw Bette. “Oh, hi. How are you?” asked Tina.
    “I’m fine, how are you?”
“I’m fine,” said Tina forming a smile.”Bette, we don’t have to do this. I’m fine.”
“I know, can’t I talk to my friend?”
Tina smiled at Bette:”Of course you can…” Before Tina could say anything Amber came up running to Tina calling Tina’s name. Bette and Tina turned to the direction of the screaming.
    “Hey, Tina.” Amber greeted Tina.
    “Hey, how are you?”
“Great, we’re still on aren’t we?” asked Amber, but before Tina could say anything Bette interrupted. “On for what?” Bette asked Tina, but Amber answered. “I asked Tina out on a date for tonight,” Amber said with a big smile. Bette felt like somebody had just hit her with a knife; Tina noticed that Bette was heard by this declaration. Tina didn’t know what to say. Before she could say anything Bette walked away. “Bette!” Tina screamed after Bette, but no reaction she just kept walking away. Amber turned to Tina:”So, are we still on?” Tina turned to Amber:”Yeah, tonight. I’ll see you tonight.” Then Tina walked to her first class, hoping to see Bette.
