Anyway enough sitting here being pensive I am off to grab my better half and convince him an afternoon at the beach is what we need.

I am strangely excited as we sit at the planet, it is Sunday now so with the girls back it is our first full family lunch since before the wedding, we are here and so is the Piezecki Fairbanks clan and we are starving as for some unknown reason we had to hold off until 2:30 as Andy and Rachel had some unavoidable meeting.

Chairs are budged and shuffled as Shane and co arrive closely followed by Peggy and Helena. The wait staff start sending drinks and sandwiches knowing to keep us fairly quiet that there is enough of us here to start feeding, once that is underway Kit takes he seat at the head of the table and we all guffaw a little as a very late and dishevelled Connor and Libby arrive following what we find out in the following minutes was a night unintentionally sleeping on the beach following dozing off after some more amorous activities.

Now if only those two would show up we could get this thing going.

I know we are going to be late but I just don’t care, we are at the doctors, and there is no place I would rather be right now, I am on the bed with Rachel sat to my side as we stare in awe at the monitor beside me. Twins, again???? Call it fate or angels or I don’t even know but our lovely doctor, Doctor MacGuire has assured us that there is definitely two babies in there. I am not sure how long we have sat here but she assures us there is no rush as I ball yet again, only this time Rachel is crying too. It is so perfect so amazing our second chance, not to replace the beautiful babies we lost so savagely but to fulfil our dreams, to have our big family, to complete the picture and to finally fit that last piece of the puzzle.

The donor is Rachel’s Brother, so these babies are a part of her too, and it was the only way I could do this, she needs to feel a part of our family, that at the moment is very Summers strong. Though I know that neither of us will feel any more for these babies than we do for holly. We both know that family is not about genes it is about love and we just found out we are gonna have a whole lot more of that.

We finally compose ourselves and collect Holly from the play are in the waiting room. I am fit to burst and cannot seem to stop crying or smiling so we make another small stop while I try and control myself. We are now 45 minutes late and that is gonna have Bette cursing good and proper.

Finally we arrive and as I expected are greeted with some sarcastic comments on our time keeping but it soon simmers down and we spend the next few hours telling stories of Europe and catching up on the others goings on over way to much food and for some afternoon cocktails.

Just as I am patting myself on the back at my cover up of my raging emotions Peggy, Libby and Connor tell us of their scheming of the last few weeks and that my sister will be staying and not leaving tomorrow. Within about two seconds the entire table has gone quite and is staring at me in shock as I promptly burst into tears again. I swear tears of happiness but I just cannot stop, I hear Rachel chuckle as she wrap me in her arms rocking me until I have myself in some sort of control. She pulls back and I see the question in her eyes and can do nothing but shrug my ascent. So with my head buried in her shoulder she turns to address the group.

“Well, we were gonna wait a few week you know till we were more sure it was safe but it would seem we are gonna struggle due to some slight reactions to the hormones on my wife’s part so we may as well tell you now. The reason we were late today is that we were at the hospital getting confirmation that Andy is in fact 10 weeks pregnant, and turns out its twins, seems we prefer to do it big I suppose.”
