This other person stopped to stand beside Tina, waiting for the light to change, checking her Blackberry for missed calls and messages in the meantime. She looked up, and saw a sight for sore eyes: the love of her life standing across the street with a bouquet of red roses. Her heart swelled, her throat constricted and tears sprung to her eyes. Alice recalled the voicemail she had left for Bette earlier:
“Bette, listen I am here. I don’t want to fight anymore. If you want the same thing, just give me a sign baby. Just one sign. That’s all.”
They had both been through hell and back over the years. But even now, the object of her affection was standing across the street with a beautiful arrangement in her arms, staring in her direction with adoring eyes. This was a sign, a sure-sign that true love would triumph over come what may. She wanted to scream, yelp and run into her arms. But she had to wait for the green light.
Bette looked up from her iPhone and caught sight of the familiar blonde beside Tina and sucked in a sharp breath. She almost dropped both her phone and the flowers. Forever the diva from DIVA, Alice stood across the intersection in a tight red dress, with a plunging neckline and slit that showed off her gorgeous legs and thighs.
The brunette was shocked about seeing her wife in flesh and blood so soon. She also felt attracted to her in that instant and kicked herself mentally for harboring any such thoughts. Bette looked back at Tina and her heart melted while her mind screamed in protest. She had no idea what to do but she knew this is not how she wanted Alice to find out about them. She deserved much better than that after everything they had been through together and apart.
The light changed green. Both women started walking towards her, oblivious to one another with their eyes squarely on Bette, who couldn’t help darting her eyes back and forth.
More attuned to Bette, Tina realized something was wrong with the way her love was nervously fidgeting. But she brushed it aside as part of the concerns that Bette had expressed on the phone.
Bette took in the sight of the two most gorgeous women in New York walking towards her and took in a deep breath. One was supposed to be her best friend, confidante and wife and the other was undoubtedly, the love of her life and her soulmate. In that moment, she realized that there was no way she could hurt either one of them, but someone would inevitably be hurt.
They were both only five feet away from her now still oblivious to one another. Bette looked from her bouquet to both women. It was now or never. Bette had to make her pick between Alice or Tina. She had to make her bed and lay in it.
“Alice.” She called out, fixing her sight on her beautiful wife.

Ouch Mav! Bette made the right choice for the moment. The right thing to do is to end things with Alice then for Tina to end things with Eric then they can live happily ever after. Right? At least I’m hoping. But this is your fanfic and your will be done. You realize this story is like an epic saga?! It’s turning into a lifetime 3 part mini series lol thanks for the update ;). Good luck this semester or quarter.
Cliffhanger! I have a feeling I will be waiting a while for my dedicated chapter. That’s fine, I can wait, slow is good…sometimes ;) Patience IS a virtue.~Amber
OMG, what must Tina be thinking? Oh gosh, please let her recognize Tina as well, don’t let her walk away from her like this. At least acknowledge her and introduce them, then tell Tina she will see her shortly. Then Bette needs to break off with Alice and go on to Tina. After all they’ve been through, and it comes to this moment together. Hopefully Tina will realize what Bette is doing and not lose her cool altogether. I feel for Tina right now, hope she can get through this. Great update. Thanks for posting.

While I am totally against cheating and I have never cheated on my baby, I do understand the situation. Sometimes life isn’t black and white. I understand Bette not wanting to hurt Alice but sometimes it’s inevitable to hurt someone who you really care for. I know that you think I’m a monster but it’s just the way I see life. Unfortunately for some sircumstances and fortunately for some others, there are times that emotions are heavier than our logic. As a result, we end up hurting people that they don’t deserve it. But can you imagine how life would be without all these powerful emotions and propelled only by logic? So, although I do believe that what Tibette has done was wrong and they have a lot of unresolved problems ahead of them, there is no logic when it comes to the love of your life. The road to happiness is bestrewed with difficult dicisions and if you want to be happy you have to make them. So when Bette make her choice, she must choose wisely. It’s her happiness that is at stake and she maybe will hurt Alice in the proccess but it ends up giving her her freedom to go and find her real love somewhere else. I’m not sure if you wanted to read all these things but I needed to put them out of my system. I apologize. I hope you will do good at the Law school and I really hope you like the new turn in your life. Love will come to you when you are least expect it, is one of my county’s sayings. So, have faith. It will come. I hope to see the rest of the story soon but till then, take good care of yourself. Thank you for sharing.

Aaaargh!! No good choice. I agree that this is not the ideal way for Alice to find out, but on the other hand, it would be even more cruel to act as though the flowers were for her and that Tina just happened to be strolling down the street at the exact same moment. Nice little drama bomb.

Oh please update soon. It really was a difficult dilemma for Bette, Tina I hope he understands, as well as Bette understood about Helena in the club and also of gestation. Moreeeeeee……
That was a cuel ending, but at this moment and time I beleive Bette made the choice to call Alice’s name out, to alert Tina to the fact that she was there. I will read to the ending.
