    “…Even if you were to err, to alter or change in some way, I would continue to love you. If the world turned against you, I would cling closer, we would defy them and endure everything together.”
    “A cold won’t kill me Tina. But what you are hiding from me might just do permanent damage.”
    “She’s protecting you. She’s risking her life and is over at the Peabody Mansion trying to collect evidence on your behalf right now. Please have some faith in her.”
    “Bette, she single-handedly ruined your life; I was just trying to fix that.”
    “Alice and my relationship has pretty much disintegrated. How have you derailed Helena, Tina? She seems to have gotten what she wanted without trying.”
    “Not when you make me feel like this.”
    “If you don’t want this, you have to tell me to stop now.” Bette tore her lips from Tina, gasping for words, knowing that soon she would leave the rational world behind. “And please don’t tell me to stop.”
    “Don’t stop,” Tina whispered back. “Don’t ever stop.”

    CHAPTER 34

    Bette needed no further encouragement, responding to her lover’s passionate pleas with heated kisses, assaulting her lips and chin with sensuous bites and nibble that turned gentle and tender after a while. She savored her taste, slowly and languidly, teasing the corners of her mouth, taking her on a journey of taste and texture, a journey that grew hotter with time and deliberation.

    She placed one hand behind Tina’s back pulling her up, kissing her tenderly while pushing the covers down, before laying Tina gently down on a pillow and getting rid of the excess covers.

    “Are you comfortable?”

    Tina gazed lovingly at Bette thinking that her love was too considerate at times. She had always given her an ‘out,’ always tried to do the right thing, to be noble in her deeds. Tina didn’t need nobility or consideration at the moment; she needed Bette to claim her. She had waited far too long for this moment, ever since she had realized her love and desire for Bette.

    “No…” the distress was evident in her voice.

    Bette stilled her tiny ministrations on Tina’s earlobe. “What’s wrong?”

    Tina sighed.

    “Baby, if you don’t relieve me now, I’ll have to take matters into my own hands.”

At the back of my mind, I’m worried about Alice, and Eric, and Tina’s sickness (please don’t let it be what I’m fearing it is) and all the other obstacles these two might have to face… But I’m hoping that commitment they just made to each other is able to withstand everything.
