    This Time Around

It was your average Monday morning, and Bette Porter was making her way to work, walking through the New York City crowds while listening in on her staff’s weekly conference call.  Bette was the owner of a high-end art consulting agency, and had made sure to hire only the best when it came to her business partners; giving her the opportunity to spend more time meeting with artists and attending networking events.

The Porter Consulting Group had a elaborate exhibit scheduled for next week, and while Bette was known to chime in days before the presentation with "That is all wrong," or "This doesn’t feel quite right," it seemed at this point in the game, her partners knew how to work around her likings.

Bette had stopped at a local coffee shop on her way to work.  While waiting in line she glanced over and saw someone she was certain she knew.  She approached the woman, and as she had suspected, it was whom she thought.

"Tina! Hi! What are you doing here?"

Tina looked up from her book and smiled. "Bette! Hi! How are you?"

Tina stood right up and gave Bette and endearing hug, one you would expect from two friends that had not seen each other in years.  They had only met a handful of times before, but the exchanges the two women gave each other mirrored that of good friends.

"I’m well, no complaints. How about you?  You look great!" said Bette.  She did.  Bette hadn’t seen Tina in over a year and she had gotten even more beautiful in that time.  "Wow," was all Bette could say to herself.

Tina laughed, and blushed slightly, but was quick to respond, "Thank you.  As do you. I’m just grabbing a cup of coffee before work and trying to read through some upcoming shoots."  Tina was a Producer for NBC Universal and had met Bette years earlier through her employee, Bette’s girlfriend at the time. "What a small world, huh?" Bette responded.  She realized she was still on her conference call and excused herself in order to jump off the call.  "Hey, don’t go anywhere, I just need to hop off of this call."

    1. OMG! TK and I work together at NBC Universal which by the way is now owned by Comcast, but that’s another story. I’m liking this beginning. Please continue.
