Thick and Thin (Part 10)
Over the next few weeks, Dana and Alice settled into a quiet routine. Monday was chemo day. Tuesday and Wednesday were spent with Dana in bed for long periods of time; her sickness had subsided greatly after her third treatment when she was given an infusion device to take home with her so that anti-sickness medication could be administered for 48 hours after her treatment finished. It was also small enough to put in her pocked and take with her if she did want or need to go out. She still felt very tired however and Nurse Alice would not allow Dana to over exert herself!
Thursdays and Fridays were spent doing whatever they felt like and usually involved coffee or lunch at the Planet or something equally relaxing then usually home for a nap. They were swiftly making their way through the entire ten series of Friends on DVD and their old cheesy movies that they’d loved as kids.
It was Saturday’s that Dana loved, they were spent as a family day and usually meant going round to Bette and Tina’s. It was the one day of the week where she felt almost human again and was completely at peace with her life. She was relaxed and comfortable in their company even though she had started to wear scarves to cover up her hair loss. These people were her family and she enjoyed just spending time with them and she knew they felt the same.
Sunday’s were a day of mixed feeling. She and Alice just spend some quality time with each other whether it was at home or out. They had set aside Sunday’s as one of Dana’s best days and used it to do whatever they pleased.
“Morning sleepy.”
“Morning babe.” Alice replied in a sleepy voice as she padded into the kitchen and towards the coffee machine, kissing Dana quickly as she passed her sitting at the kitchen table reading the paper and drinking one of her herbal teas.
Alice yawned, “How long’ve you been up?”
“Bout an hour, I couldn’t get back to sleep and you were out for the count”
“Sorry”
“Don’t apologise, you’ve never exactly been an early riser.”

WOW…I am nervous!!!
No! You just had to do that didn’t you? I knew, as the word accident came out of Shane’s mouth, exactly what was going to happen. I got that feeling of dread. You know? Where you know something bad is destined to happen, and you hope, and hope that it’s not going to happen in the end, but then of course it does anyway. It makes me nuts! Anyway. Great update. I really liked it. I can’t wait to see what happens. I hope that Alice is okay. They’re going through enough hard times as it is.

I’m not going to need anti-depressants, am I? Better tell me now so that I have therapeutic levels BEFORE reading the next chapter. (Here’s hoping they would actually work as opposed to just making me crazier.) Good stuff. Looking forward to your next post.
