    The Wedding 15

Dressed in her business suit following a lengthy day of meetings with the production team, Tina stood at the door of the home that she shared with Henry. Taking a deep breath, she knocked on the door.

"Tina?" Henry asked, confused at the sight of his fiancee on the doorstep "Why are you ringing the bell?"

    "Oh…I don’t know…I just…can I come in?"

"It’s your home Tina, of course you can. But I thought you wanted to spend these two weeks apart?"

The blonde stepped into the house and closed the door behind her ""I did. I mean, I do. But Henry, we need to talk"

    ********************************************************************

Across town, Bette was pacing up and down in the living room. It had been over an hour since Tina had text her to say that she was outside the house, and still she had heard nothing. It was this one final hurdle that she was most worried about, she didn’t trust Henry not to cause a scene. And as she knew from her own experience, Tina wasn’t a person that someone would be willing to give up without a fight.

Hearing a key turn in the lock, she stood still and held her breath. The door swung open to reveal the blonde, tears streaming down her face.

"T? What’s going on?" the brunette rushed over to her and pulled her into a tight embrace.

"Bette" the blonde sniffled into Bette’s shoulder "you aren’t gonna want to hug me after you hear what I have to say"

Not releasing her hold on the blonde, the brunette spoke "No…no…I’m not letting you go"

    "It’s my Mom" Tina cried.

"Come on, come sit down with me and we’ll talk about it" the brunette said softly, leading the blonde to the sofa.

They sat down in silence as Bette rubbed the blonde’s back, patiently waiting for her to continue.

"I went to the house to talk to Henry, to tell him I can’t go through with the wedding. But before I could tell him he said…he said…oh god…" the blonde dissolved into sobs.

"Sshh it’s ok" the brunette soothed, kissing the top of her head "just take a deep breath and tell me what he said"

"He said he was sorry so to hear my Mom’s news"

    1. Oh, God! This is sooooooooooooo sad… YOu are killing me here… please, let them be together… Let the mother die before the wedding or something… please????

    2. Oh please!!! You ‘ve got to be kidding me right? How on earth is Tina even thinking about her mother when what is at stake is the rest of her life and the life of the one who she claims she loves? And what the fuck is Bette thinking? And you want me to study? Yeah ok. I will fail and it’s your fault! I’m telling you, you will give me a heart attack before my 25th birthday next month!

    3. The Mom needs to be dealt with. She needs to see that her final wish should be the knowledge that her daughter will be happy, no matter with whom. Tina needs to talk to her, her mom deserves the truth. Henry also deserves to know what happened between Tina and Bette. A distant relative of mine was in a similar situation. Her mom was dying and had expressed that her final wish were that her daughter got married to the guy she was with. The marriage lasted two months after the mom had died.

    4. Oh, the story was great so far, but Tina’s mom wishing to see her and Henry getting married?! My mom could be wishing anything she wanted, that she would die wishing.

    5. …sigh. Her absentee mother, who’s clearly been unable to give two flying figs about her daughter for the past however long, is about to cork it and Tina feels this obligation to fulfill this sudden “dying wish” to see her daughter married? What a manipulative cow. It’s likely the only way she’d score an invite to the wedding otherwise. And how much of a weak-willed girl Tina still is. I know Bette loves her, but feck’s sake. How much will she have to endure? Should Bette be abstinent throughout the duration of this sham of a marriage while she waits for Tina to come and (sexlessly) warm her bed? Bette’s a martyr! And… *whispering* too good for Tina. After all that… I still remain hopeful, all the same. (lol) thank you for posting, BB. :)

    6. You have got to be fu….. kidding me. Could you perhaps dress up Shane in a mans suit? Anything but an actual wedding. You have got to post soon.

    7. Been loving the story, but good grief, your Tina is difficult to like. We’re all dying, just some quicker than others. I can’t imagine imposing my wishes on my children, nor can I imagine being an absentee mother. Pitiful!

    8. Oh shit… That bitch really chose her moment! Anyway, are they really so stupid? As if they were going back to be just friends after that… Great chapter BB, bring on the rest :D

    9. LOL! Your killing me here, BB. Why do I get the feeling that you sit in front of your computer with an evil grin on your face as you take us from high to low with only one post? **Now that I think about it- that would be kind of fun, huh? LOL!** How about Tina visits her ailing Mom, tells her the wedding is off to Henry but that she’ll be getting married to the love of her life, Bette? She’ll at least get part of her dying wish and Tibette can live happily ever after. Or you could just have tibette have crazy, mad sex for the next 5 days and then you can follow MBE’s comment and have Alice knock off her mom. Either choice works for me.

    10. Thud! That was my head hitting the table. Some mother’s(like mine)are hard to please, seems like Tina’s been trying to do that her entire life. Bette knows this. Now her mom adds the “dying wish” to it. Bette has just done what someone who is truly in love with someone does, put them and their needs before her own. It’s really a shame that Tina’s mother didn’t care enough about her daughter to get to know her friends. She could learn so much from Bette.

    11. That is just pure shitty!!!!!! Tina needs to talk with her mom and find out the truth because I don’t trust henry, not one bit. He could be lying thru his dirty teeth and Tina’s mom would be going along with the story because he knows that he is losing Tina to Bette. Tina needs to call her NOW and ask about her health and why she didn’t tell Tina a few days before when she talked to her. Find out how long she has to live and what the disease is supposed to be. I DON’T BELIEVE IT!!!! Tina and Bette should not give up and Tina should not marry the ass. Henry has made all this up. This is just crazy. Guess you can see that I don’t trust many people at all. Why? Because some people will do anything to get their way and what they want, to hell with the other party. I don’t believe henry and Tina’s mother for an instant. Tina needs to talk with her mother’s doctor as well to get more information. Sorry for all my blue language but now I’m really mad as hell with henry and Tina’s mom. Great update. Thanks for posting.

    12. Seriously?!?! Why do I feel that the dufus is just making things up?! Standing by each others side is romantic and all but damn this hurts. Please make all of this better. :-) Thanks for the post! PPS

    13. It’s so sad. Tina needs to talk to her mom and tell her about Bette. I don’t see the marriage between Henry and Tina lasting. Sooner or later, B&T are going to cave in and start an affair.

    14. Ahhhhhhhhhhhh….you know Tina is my favorite but at the moment I am having second thoughts about that. How is the hell can she marry that man and leave Bette like that because her mom has a dying wish….screw her and the wish. Please post soon.

    15. *looks up above* BB, I think everybody else summed it up so – wow – you are twisted – in a good way as long as the ending is happy for Bette and Ti! You may have to explain the whole futbol thing to me at some point :)

    16. BealsBaby I’ve been reading silently because this is the type of story that I get emotional about and sometimes might sound harsh – so please don’t take this in a bad way but I need to put my two cents in on this chapter – Tina needs to break it off with Henry not for Bette and not for her mother; she needs to do it to maintain some respectability and integrity. She doesn’t love Henry, she doesn’t want a life with him, she doesn’t want to marry him, and she’s just using him. She’s a heartbreaker and much as she thinks she’s doing what is best for other’s ultimately she’s being very selfish. Marrying Henry and stringing Bette along is worse than letting Henry go, dealing with her mother and making up her mind about Bette. How can she even ask this of Bette. What’s the plan marry Henry and have Bette on the side until she works up the nerve to breakup with him?
