    I was pretty great, wasn’t I?

    Tina was helpless against those words and so the watch was purchased. It had barely left Tina’s wrist since. She was then shaken out of her daydream by the ringing of her phone.

    “Hey Bette, I was just thinking about the day we bought my watch.”

    “The look on your face was priceless andwell I do remember getting, distinctly, lucky once we got back home.” Bette let out a lascivious laugh at this particular memory.

    “Bette, let’s focus on the task at hand.”

    “OK, sorry.but you were really amazing that afternoon, and evening. I think I ached for about a week afterwards and I never looked at the kitchen table in quite the same way again.”

    “Bette!”

    “What? Are you not enjoying our little trip down memory lane?” questioned Bette, innocently.

    “I was pretty great, wasn’t I?”

    “Mind blowing. Anyway, before this turns into something completely different to what we intended, I spoke to Franklin and even though he’s not happy he has agreed to my visiting London and, more importantly, I’m booked on a late flight out of LAX tonight. I land at 11:15 tomorrow morning UK time. Is that OK?”

    “It’s more than OK, it’s..overwhelming. Do you want me to book you a room at the hotel?”

    “I think that would be best, don’t you?” replied Bette, glad that Tina had dealt with this awkward topic before it became an issue between the two of them.

    “Would you like me to pick you up from the airport?”

    “Are you sure that you can be spared from the set?”

    “Don’t worry. I can get my assistant, Kate, to cover for me. She’s quite intrigued to meet you.”

    “You’ve been talking about me to your assistant?”

    “Bette, I had to talk to someone. Everyone I know and love is five thousand miles away. I was lonely and I missed you. Shane’s been incredible but it’s not the same as getting that personal interaction.”

    “I’m sorry T”

    “Don’t be sorry, just get here.”

    “OK, and on that note I guess I should go pack otherwise I’m not going to be getting on that plane. T, I love you and I’ll be there soon.”

    “I know baby, I love you too. Bye.”

    “Bye.”

    They both hung up simultaneously, not wanting to hear the disconnecting tone. As Tina got up from her bench and started to walk back to the hotel she felt something settle in her. She wasn’t quite sure what it was but she knew that it had everything to do with the fact that she would be seeing Bette in less that twenty four hours.
