Chapter 9

Tina sat down in front of her computer and re-read the note, Ok Miss Porter, two can play that game. She launched her browser and searched for online language translators. This would be easier if I knew what language this is. The search engine brought up several so she chose the first. It looks a little like Russian or German or something on that part of the world. Ill try Russian to English. Nope thats not it. German to English. Excellent. My body burns with desire for you. A huge grin came over her face and she almost jumped out of her seat to go to Bettes office, but instead thought, I have a better idea. Tina left the office and went to a little gift and bookstore just down the street. She was having trouble finding the perfect gift for Bette. Then she remembered that in one of their conversations Bette mentioned that her best authors were the Bronte sisters. She went to the Classics section and found two books she thought Bette might like. Best Poems of the Bronte Sisters and Charlotte and Emily Bronte- The Complete Novels- Jane Eyre, Wuthering Heights, Shirley, Villette and The Professor. She then went to the card section. She took her time in choosing the card that best described how she felt. She perused card after card until finding the perfect one. The outside read New Beginnings, New Love, and on the inside read,

Tina went back to her desk pleased with her accomplishments. Let me see what Bette has to say about that one.

Bette, I have a package for you, should I send it up?

Thats ok, Ill come down for it. Does it say who its from?

No, but theres a card attached.

Ok, thanks, Ill be right down. Bette smiled to herself. Tina didnt come into see her yet and her flowers should have been delivered by now so only one thought came across her mind when Melissa mentioned a card attached. It has to be something from Tina. I hope it is. Bette went down and collected the package. There were two nicely wrapped parcels and a card in a gift bag. She got back to her office and opened the parcels. Oh my God, I cant believe this. She put the books down and opened the card. She read the card. After she read the card, thrice over, she collected herself and went to Tinas cubicle and said in a stern voice, Kennard. My office. Now. and went back to her office before Tina looked up or say anything.

Tina got up and her eyes made four with Jessicas. Jessica didnt say anything but her expression was loud and clear. Tina shrugged her shoulder. Tina got to Bettes office. The door was slightly open. She knocked and stuck her head through the door. Bette? She didnt see Bette behind her desk and as she entered fully Bette, who was hiding behind the door, grabbed Tina and pinned her against the door. Before Tina could get a word out Bette started devouring Tina. When she finally broke for air they were both panting like they had run a marathon. Bette kissed Tina again, this time much softer. I love the books, and the card.

I was hoping you would.

Here. Bette handed Tina a piece of paper with a name and address of a hotel nearby.

Ok. Tina was speechless, one she still recovering for the kiss and two she knew exactly why Bette wanted to meet her later and she was nervous about it.

I mean only if you want to. Because if Bette continued seeing the expression on Tinas face.

Bette started laughing, I just realized something. Jess probably thinks Im scolding you.

Oh yeah, Tina mocked Bette, Kennard. My office. Now. Even I thought I had done something wrong.

I should be done before lunch.

Great, Im almost done here too so we could put something together. I know Emmett wants it for Thursday but I would like him to look it over first.

Ok, well, Ill be done soon. And we could have it done by this afternoon.

Ok, sounds good. But um. I have to leave a bit early so I could just leave you to finish if we dont get done in time.

THAT AFTERNOON AT 2:45

I guess I could leave you to finish up? Bette asked Tina.

Yeah, I got it covered.

See you in a bit.

Yeah. Tina said smiling. Bette packed up her stuff and kissed Tina on her way out of her office.

AT THE HOTEL

Good afternoon. Bette greeted the clerk.

Good afternoon miss how may I help you.

Im Bette Porter, I made a reservation for today.

Let me see. The clerk browsed through the reservations, Yes, room 1326. Here is your key enjoy and your stay maam.

Oh I will thank you. Bette smiled back at the clerk.

Bette went up to the room. She wanted to have everything ready before Tina got there. She called room service and ordered gazpacho soup for the appetizer, mexican fried rice, ranch chicken and corn for the main course, the most expensive wine on the menu, and chocolate covered strawberries with whip cream for dessert. She lit the scented candles she bought earlier, put in the Power Of Love: 16 Great Soft Rock Hits cd, she poured herself a glass of wine and waited for Tina to arrive.

BACK AT THE OFFICE

Tina got everything done on time for Emmett to review but he was taking a bit longer that she appreciated. She couldnt leave to call Bette to let her know that she will be late and she was praying that Emmett would just let her leave, after all the document was clear enough and it didnt warrant her being there. She did her best to hide her anxiety but she was hard hiding her elation when he called it a day. In three minutes flat Tina was out of the building and on her way to the hotel. On her way she called Bette to let her know that she will be there soon. Tina, where are you? I tried calling you but I kept getting your voice mail.

Im sorry babe, Emmett had me stay with him while her read through the report and I had my phone off. Bette didnt respond immediately and Tina became concerned. Bette? Are you there?

Yes. I was worried thats all. Bette was worried but she was still coy from Tina calling her babe. I

Nothing. I cant wait till youre here.

Bette hung up the phone and sighed. I think Im falling in love.

A FEW MINUTES LATER IN THE ROOM

Miss Porter I have a Miss Kennard at the front desk to see you.

Great, could you send her up please?

Bette suddenly became nervous. Her hand started sweating and her heart was pounding hard. Come on, youve done this before. Get hold of yourself. Just then there was a knock on the door. She opened the door, Hi. Bette said smiling at Tina.

Hi. Bette continued to stare at Tina. Arent you going to let me in?

Oh, sorry. Come in.

Oh the place looks great. Romantic.

Thats the idea. A nervous silence again. I ordered dinner, it should be here in a few minutes. Bette said taking Tinas coat. We could have a drink while we wait.

Thanks, that would be great. Bette poured Tina a glass of wine and handed it to her. Thanks. She took a sip, Mmmm excellent. Emmett said that it was well done. The report? He said that he could not have done a better job. Said we make a great team.

Bette didnt really want to hear about work, so she silenced Tina with a kiss, Perhaps he is making a prediction. And I dont mean in the lines of work. Just then dinner came. The waiter offered to stay and serve but Bette declined. They enjoyed a delicious dinner and good conversation. After dinner they took the dessert tray with them to the living room. Bette decided that she would feed Tina the strawberries. When she placed the first strawberry in Tinas mouth Tina sucked on her finger lightly which caused Bette to moan. Bette lost all control. She moved in to kiss Tina and soon enough Tina lying back on the couch helpless. The kiss deepened and there were no inhibitions between them. Bettes hands had a mind of their own trailing from Tinas thigh to her stomach and under her shirt. Bette cupped Tinas breast and pinched Tinas erect nipple which caused Tina to maon. Tinas hands found their way down Bettes back and in the pants touching the bare skin of her cheeks. Bette began to unbutton Tinas jeans and slipped her hand into Tinas panties to her wetness.
