    The Start – Chapter 3

    Chapter 3

    The Planet:

‘Soooo, What the hell happened?’ Helena and sat down at Tina’s table, careful not to spill her hot coffee.  Tina just grinned back at her as she took a sip, slowly.

‘Well…’ She placed her drink back down and decided it needed more sugar. She shook a packet in one hand, ripped the top off and poured the contents into the dark, swirling liquid. Making sure to avoid Helena’s eye contact, she sipped again and sighed.

‘Oh Jesus, come on Tina, what the hell happened between you and Bette last night?’ Helena leant forward and glared.

‘Ok, sorry. It’s just it was one of those scenarios where everything and nothing happened all at once you know?’ Tina looked back at the brunette in front of her and giggled when the look on her face changed from intrigue and hope to general confusion.

‘No. Not going to lie, that means nothing to me… ok, so I’m going to need details.’ She nodded ‘Yup, going to need more than that.’ She chuckled and took a sip of her own coffee.

‘Like I said in my text, we kissed. She just looked so amazing at the party last night, I mean really fucking hot and I saw her flirting with the barmaid and I guess I got a little jealous…’ Tina paused as Helena let out a laugh.

‘I knew you last night was going to land you in hot water.’ She shook her head and unconsciously stirred her drink.

‘Anyway’ Tina glared back. ‘I may have been a little forward and the next thing I know, we’re making out in a separate section of the pub.’ She beamed and instantly raised her cup to her lips, trying to hide the blush that spread across her cheeks and made her eyes twinkle. Her stomach started leaping at the memory and as it was linked with the thought of tonight, her breathing became faster.

Helena noticed the change and smiled back. It was nice to see such a passionate side to Tina. This side only ever normally came out in her paintings and even then, when she was questioned about the feelings that inspired her, she would keep it distant and non-descript.

‘Define ‘a little forward’ for me would you? What exactly did you do, jump her?!’ Helena laughed.

    1. Thanks for the posting. Wow, that was delightfully sweet. I love the array of emotions both women seem to be experiencing at the moment. All is so new to them and their nerves are rattled. I love the beginning of relationships when all is so new and exciting.
