    The Real Deal Ch 15

    Ch 15

    Day 154, 20 October

    Dearest Carmen

People say time flies – it’s so true.  Five months has passed by, so many things had happened between us and to us.  One more month then we have a decision to make together.  Of course, I want things to work out between us.  I am in a much better place now.  I want to be everything that you want me to be, I really do.

My love for you has grown since we last met – I didn’t know that was even possible.

    Please give me another chance.

    Love

    Shane

    The Planet

I met Jenny, Alice and Tasha here for breakfast.

“Hey, it’s the time of the year again.”  Alice says with a hint of sadness.

“I know. Are we going back to the national park again this year?”  I ask.

“Tasha has this great idea.  She did a charity jump to raise breast cancer awareness a few years back.  I am thinking we should do it this year in remembrance of Dana. She would love it.”  Alice says.

“Jump?  What do you mean?”  I ask nervously.

“You know sky diving, jumping out of the plane.”  Tasha answers.

“That’s a really cool idea.  I love it!” Jenny cries, as dramatic as usual. I roll my eyes.

“Fuck, no.  I can’t do it.” I say.

    “Why?” Tasha asks.

“Because Shane is afraid of heights!”  Jenny answers mischievously.

“Really?  But that time you were standing on the edge of the cruise ship, remember at the boat party?” Alice is surprised.

“That’s different, I was standing on the edge.  I don’t like it when my feet are in the air!” I explain.

“Oh, this is fun.  Yoda is scared of something!” Alice says.

“I am scared of a lot of things, Al.  Height is not even at the top of my list right now.”

    “What is then?”  Jenny asks.

    “Carmen.” I simply say.

“You are afraid of her?”  Alice asks.

“No, not her.”  I shake my head, and then continue, “afraid that she doesn’t want me back.”
