Lara: How’s Shane?
Max: Not talkin’ much….
Helena: Alice is in the room with her at the moment. Well, I’m
off! I’m going to return these to Carmen and see if she’s okay.
Helena happens to notice the scars on Lara’s hands.
Helena: My word, what happened Lara?
Lara holds her hands up, showing the scars.
Lara: Ask Carmen when you see her.
Lara smirks and walks inside. Helena walks to her car with the
box, gets in and drives off. Max decides to relax by flipping
through the various news channels on TV. Lara’s in the living
room, only to see Alice emerge from the hallway.
Alice: Hey….
Lara: Alice?
Alice: I um…need to go. Shane’s not feeling too conversational right now.
Lara detects the hurt in Alice’s voice and consoles her.
Lara: I’ll follow after in a little bit.
Alice: Okay.
Lara: Where’s Jenny?
Alice: She’s in her room…she’s not talking, either.
Lara: Soon as I get home, I’ll cook us something, okay?
Alice nods with her eyes closed. She pats Lara on the shoulder
and walks out. Lara watches as Alice somberly gets in her car and
leaves. She then closes the door and walks immediately towards
and then down the hallway until she sees the door already open to
Shane’s room. Shane is silent on the bed, looking out into nothing as
Lara walks in.
Lara: How’s the nose…?
Shane’s eyes focus now on Lara with a very cold look. Now, Lara’s eyes pierce as she goes to the edge of Shane’s bed.
Lara: Listen. It’s been rough for you and you know what?
It’s been rough for all of us. We’re all trying to work through
issues right now.
Shane: The fuck is your point…?
Lara walks down the side of the bed and leans forward. The two are face to face.
Lara: Your best friend comes in after you’ve had a bad fight and you
chase her off. That’s the fucking point. I got news for
you, Shane. You’re not the only one hurting right now. All
of us are. You, me, Alice, Jenny, Helena, Bette, Tina….Kit
almost passed out today from all the stress today caused her. If
you and Carmen want to give up on each other, that’s your
business. I don’t like the idea that you’ve hurt each other, but
I understand that’s your business.

Kace, love, i love you dearly for this story. Your a genuis when it comes to writting a complete drama fanfic, i hope it get’s better between the ladies :)
Like how Alice was thinking of some one else,that would be equaly hurt by Dana passing. Al least Lare got to say goodby to her. I like lara and Alice together. To night Hail,Hail the gangs all here. thanks

Helena is trying to become a better person for everybody. Alice and Lara had me in tears at the end. It is so hard to say good bye to someone that you love. This is a great and sad story. It seems that only Bette and Tina (thanks for that one, my Tibette heart is also thankful) are happy.

I really enjoyed this chap. I like Alice and Lara together in this story, helping each other with their loss. Its nice of Alice to keep some ashes for Lara. Carmen wants to play the field huh? Interesting.. altho I do hope she and Shane will be back together someday. But I guess its better they take some time apart for now.. oh well post soon!
Good chaper, nice way to explain Alice saving some of Dana ashes, I was kind of conserned about that in S3. I still don’t exactly buy S3’s Helena because she doesn’t mesh with the character as portrayed in S2. S2’s Helena deserves some definate pay back for her assult on Bette’s life and mommy cutting her off financially just doesn’t cut it as payback. Please continue.
I just caught up on your story. I would like to say welcome. I must say that you are doing a wonderful job of the mess that the l-word powers that be left. Usually when I post I say ladies in the authors notes now I will have to amend that to Ladies and Kace.

Love your story, really sweet Alice giving Lara Dana’s ashes. Should be interesting how Shane is going to deal w/ Carmen playing the field & possibly hooking up w/ Leigh. Helena shouldn’t have put herself in the middle of that since she’ll b e Shane’s roommate. Post soon, Excellent chap.
