    The Long and Winding Road Chapter 15

    Tina spent the rest of the day with Bette in the hospital room. They sat together and talked about the practicalities of their new situation.

     

    Finally Bette fell asleep with her hand and Tina’s on her bump. Tina sat watching her beloved for an hour until she felt that she needed to sleep. Tina made it as far as the front entrance before deciding that she couldn’t sleep alone – she wanted to be there for Bette if and when she woke up. So after making a call to Alice to ask to bring her a couple of changes of clothes she returned to the silent hospital room.

     

     

    Tina sat in the nearest chair and gazed at Bette who was sleeping peacefully on her side. She marvelled at how in her early 40’s Bette was more beautiful now than she had been in her 30’s.

     

     

    Bette had been a player when they had met and able to get any woman she set her mind on. And that had changed with their meeting – the blonde, engaged production assistant had been bewitched by the stunning gallery director.

     

    It had been a meeting of minds as well as bodies, a union of two spirits who had searched so long for what they found in one another.

     

    Tina found her mind wandering back to those early days. Bette had been by far the most sophisticated woman Tina had met – she was cultured and highly intelligent – she treated fools with contempt and was quick to anger.

     

     

    But with Tina she had shown her vulnerability – she had opened up to Tina in ways that she discovered she had never before or since.

     

    Tina knew about the dark recesses of Bette’s soul that even Alice and Kit were not permitted access to. Tina saw the little girl denied the love of her mother. Tina saw the little girl desperate for the approval of a cold father. Tina alone saw the woman full of doubts about her skills as a gallery director – afraid that one day someone would unmask her.

     

     

    Tina saw the woman who wanted a wife and a family where she could be free to give them all the huge store of love that she held deep inside her.

    3. Great chapter and just love the girls being together. They love each other so much and now the the baby coming they will get to have their family they’ve always wanted. Will they please just turn all this in to the police before he gets a chance to really hurt someone. Helenda should have already turned all this in to the police before daylight so they can arrest the asshole. But of course, if he is not picked up and does try to hurt them, I do believe the girls will take him and he will wish that he had never known any of them. I knew the drama and bad stuff was coming.     12. Ahhh Ally, you are up to ypur old tricks, GREAT chapter. Henry is an idiot, not only has he commited a crime by stealing and burning her car (they have the video record) but he has treaten all three of them and the worst thing that you could do is harm a pregnant lady. There are only pluses for Tina in this situation. She has insurance on her car so that no problem, and all that is left for her to do in file a restraining order and report the insident to the police. Let see haow much of a bad a** he is now. If he is not careful his next gf will be a BIG hairy guy in jail. Oh I’m sorry, he is the b**ch LOL.

    40. I love the tenderness that you show Bette and Tina have towards each other. Even with the time spend away from each other you can feel the love that they share with each other. Both are going to make great moms. Now, with Henry we can send the same assassin that you will use to take care of the wicked witch that is called your boss. When he/she is done just send them over the big pond to take care of Henry. Now that Tina is going to be a mom, maybe a bigger vehicle is needed. I will miss the SAAB though. If she choose to get a SAAB again maybe get a blue one for old time sakes.
