Shane looks over at Alice. And Alice looks over at Shane. Bette drops the ball and says

“what’s going on?”

The gym door open again and the guy stating that he was Tina’s boyfriend came walking in. Tina stepped away from Bette. Bette glanced over at Tina and said

“Tina, what’s wrong?”

her face went pale. The guy stepped forward and said “hey baby, I’ve been looking all over for you”

I couldn’t believe this shit. What the fuck is going on? I said ” Shane, Alice, Tina, would someone tell me what’s going on?

Shane stepped forward and said “Bette, that’s Tina’s boyfriend” she pointed to the guy

I couldn’t control the beat of my heart. I thought it was going to jump out of me. I looked over at Tina and said

“is this true?”

she stared at me and then back at her boyfriend. She turned and walked away. She ran out of the gym as fast as she could. I couldn’t just let her go. I needed answers and I needed them as soon as possible. I ran after her I said

“Tina, wait up”

I ran down the hall and out the building. She was standing outside near the payphones. The football field was adjacent to her. She cried alone her body shook up and down. I watched her from the window and bowed my head. I didn’t no why I felt so bad. So much was happening and my feelings were being tossed in the air. I opened the door and walked through it. I stood to the side of her. She turned to me and said

“I’m sorry, I didn’t know that he would find me” she wiped her face and said “no, it’s not true” she clears her throat and said “we broke up 5 months ago” she bowed her head

I sighed and shook my head. I asked the question that I hate asking “are you in love with him?” my heart beat heavidly

she said “no, not anymore” she looked up at me never blinking

Her ex boyfriend came outside and stared at us both. He said ” Tina, whose this and why is your hair wet?”

Alice and Shane came running out. I looked at Tina and then her ex boyfriend. I turned to her and said “I’ll let you two talk”

Tina nod her head. Alice, Shane, and I head inside. Tina turns to her ex boyfriend and said

“what are you doing here?”

He smiles and says ” what do you mean?” he then said “I’m here for you” he touches Tina’s shoulder and she pulls away. She said

“when I said that I wanted out I meant it” she backs away and said “you wasted your time coming here”

her boyfriend placed his hands on her shoulder and said “I know what you said…but we were mad at one another” he then said “we really didn’t mean all of those nasty words we said to one another”

Tina smirks and said “but I did” she says “I’m not happy with us being together”

he becomes annoyed and said “oh, so what are you a fucking dyke now?”

Tina slapped his face and said ” fuck off, if you come up here again and harass me I’ll have you prosecuted” she wipes her face and said “stay the fuck away from me and my friends” she backs off and walks away

She heads inside the gym and joins the women. Bette stops shooting when she sees her. She runs over to her and says

“is everything okay?” she smiles a big smile

Tina nods her head and said “yes, much much better now that I’m here with you” she kisses Bette

We share a passionate kiss in the gym. Tina forgets that Shane and Alice are there. She backs away and I notice this. I said

“they’re cool, they’re my best friends”

Tina smiles and kisses me again. Comfort fills her heart and soul. Alice yells out

“get a room Captain”

I smiled said “shut up Piezecki, nobody’s talking to you”

Alice laughs and so does Shane. Bette extends her hands and says

“come, lets play”

Tina takes my hand and says “sure, lead the way Captain”
