The L Word: Tina Kennard’s lost background

Tina was driving in silence, deep in thoughts. She throws side looks to Jinks. The little guy was intrigued in the stereo system. He was pushing the buttons, changing the stations. Tina watched in amusement, how something so insignificantly for them was so magnificent for him.

“Interesting magic item, how you manage to keep them inside?” Jinks asked.

“With money…” Tina said, smirking. Then she thought it will be good idea, if asked Jinks few thing about her family.

“Hey Jinks, can I asked you something?”

“Yes master Kennard…” Jinks said, rising his eyes.

“First of all stop calling me master Kennard, that’s not “star wars”, second what can you tell me about that family book?”

Jinks scratched his neck, thinking for a moment “Well…all I know is that’s an ancient book which your family is kipping more than 500 hundred years. Most of your siblings were involved in the word of magic’s, but few of yours managed to stand aside. So now the Kennard’s are split on two. One, who wants to protect the secret book from the world, and the other one…well you can guess alone…so in general, your mother is the last one left on the line, and she wants the book more than anything, and she’ll not stop till she get her….” Tina was listening intensely; a frown was forming on her forehead.

“Why my grandfather gave it to me?” Tina asked

“Because it’s time!” Jinks simply replayed leaning back in his seat.

“Time, time for what?” Tina said, she was getting irritated

“For you to see the right way…” Jinks said. Tina slammed on the brakes, and the car made a drift before stopping. She griped the steering wheel, trying to calm down.

“Listen, you little piece of shit, I’m sick and tired of this riddles…” Tina yelled…”Tell me why my mother is after me, or I’m living you right here and now!”

“You won’t do this!” Jinks clinched…

“Try me…” Tina said unfastening her belt….

“OK…ok…I get your point!” Jinks said, lifting his little hands in defense…”Your mother has been wash-braying Victoria from years. Victoria thinks that you stoles the book form your mother, and now she wants revenge. Few months ago Victoria managed to escapes from your mother’s control. All I know is that Victoria is trying to stop her.  In our circles she’s been called traitor….”
