    “Did you make some gesture a couple of hours ago ?”

     

    “Yes – yes I did “

     

    “Well she smiled at me which is a first in the last two days – it was a real break through ‘

     

    “I hope she doesn’t give me the cold shoulder tonight “

     

    Lara looks me up and down.

     

     “Looking like that  Tina – she isn’t capable of ignoring you “


     

     

    I am mingling at the champagne reception before the event starts.

    I have just finished talking to a major fundraiser for the party when I feel a soft hand on my back and a finger tracing the length of my spine.

     

    “Good evening Tina “

     

    “Good evening Senator Peabody “

     

    I turn and struggle to with hold a gasp of desire. Despite all the hurt I have felt over Helena she still has the power to arouse me just by standing in front of me. She looks sensational – a tight navy blue trouser suit with the jacket open just enough to display her full and very tasty cleavage.

     

    “You haven’t been returning my calls Tina “

     

    “I’ve been busy – I got  a new job in case you hadn’t heard “

    She touches my hand – I cannot do this . I am in love with Bette and here is Helena looking sexy and being sweet to me.

    Helena smells and looks splendid – I am so not good at this – I want only one woman and that is Bette Porter.

    33. Congrulations on your award. Fell behind on the chapters so only now able to comment. I love the story and can’t wait for Bette to realize how much she wants Tina back. When I do get involved with someone I too have a tendency to move too quickly. I do understand how Bette wants everything to go the way she invisions it. Both women need to give in a little to each other and just not their physical needs. This is where Shane would be a big help to both women.

    37. What’s with that funnyone person? Such a smart aleck. Of course Bette’s upset because of the fight. And she was right to order protection for Tina. Bette’s the president and Tina is not only someone she loves but a high ranking member of staff.
