CHAPTER 294
Narration of President Bette Kennard Porter
　
It all feels so surreal to be in Virginia and not to have Tina and Ella with me. The house is not just the house it always was. it’s a home -and a home that needs my wife and our daughter for it to feel the love and warmth that I associate with being here. I have been working since about 4:30 – I think I have had slept for about two hours. I am just about to go into the kitchen to fix some coffee when the door to my office opens and Kit comes in. I arrived here after 1am and Kit was waiting for me. In the end I defeated my own stubborn streak and rang Kit before I bordered the flight so when I arrived she was waiting for me. it’s the first time in months that I have reached out to my sister and she hasn’t let me down.
She puts a coffee on my desk and sits down and looks at me
“How’s my baby girl ?”
“Living on coffee and candy bars “ I reply gesturing to the big bag of candies I have been comfort eating since I got up
“Not going to help you – would you like some real food ?”
“No – maybe later “
“You should eat and you should sleep – how long have you been up ?”
“About 4:30 “
“That’s not a good time “
“I am used to getting up with Ella during the night “
“You miss both your girls don’t you ?”
“Yes – I just want to hold both of them “
“Even Tina ?”
“Even Tina – even though she has really hurt me – even though she said some horrible things – of course I want to hold her – she’s my wife. She is and she will always be the only woman I have eyes for “
“So what are you going to do and say when she finally either calls or shows up ?”
“I don’t know “
“You could yell at her “

Thanks for posting when you are having bit of problem with your computer. Good that Tina has arrived. I have a soft spot for Tina so I hope she doesnt have to grovel for more than 2 more chapters. I doubt that Tina really believes Bette is capable of ordering a kill… … well unless maybe someone physically harms Tina or their daughter?
Great to have you back! I am glad to know you have a new tower!! You made my day with this post! I am such a huge fan of your stories, and The L Wing is definitely my favorite! I do hope Bette and Tina can solve this mess between them. They have to remember how much love they have for each other! Can´t wait for your next post!

I’ve been “jonesing” for this story. Tina is in loine for some groveling. Computers are a PITA. Can’t live w/o them or w/them. Rocky has a utopian life.

Thanks for posting. It’s great to have you back. By the way, you should think about getting an PATA/IDE hard drive enclosure so you don’t have to open up your new pc… and you can use it as your backup. Just connect it to a USB port and you’re all set.
Sorry to here about your computer, mine did the same thing a couple of weeks ago. It sucked. Loved the update.
Well, Tina questioned Bette’s core values. Right? No wonder she is mad. Hope you keep on writing for many many years and exhaust and abuse your new computer as well! My best to Rocky.

I really do hope Tina make amends, Bette and Tina cannot lose one another. They really are a team and need each other. I really do hope they do make up very soon. Please post another installment when you can.
hey thanks for the update. no worries about the time between posts. Im happy to read earlier chaps of this wonderful story. I hope Tina apologizes for thinking Bette could have had Holly killed. Bette should just tell her the damn plan because that is at the heart of this mess right?

Ally, I could use some more tension between them. A simple I am sorry does not fit. Some groveling would be awesome. Rocky napping, what a life. Enjoy your new ‘puter.

You may want to set your old hard drive on slave mode by placing a jumper on the pins; before you physically attach them to your system; illustrations on how, are usually indicated on the label of the drive itself. hope that helps.

Thank you for posting. I just think that Bette has not done anything wrong and should not be guilt tripped here by no one. Especially not by Kit who should at least try to be on Bette’s side. But I don’t think that will ever happen. Anyway, how about to get Bette some true friend? :-)

It’s so good that Tina has arrived, they really do need each other even though they’re being buttheads right now. Bette should not have left the residence and Tina should not have pounced on her like that and accused her of something that she knew Bette could not have done. Don’t think there is anything that could make Bette do something of that nature. But now since Tina is there, please let them have a good talk and get all the accusations and ensuing hurt feelings out of the way. Then get back home to Ella. Bette should know how sorry Tina is if she rode on Marine 1, because she is afraid of and hates the helicopter so much. Sorry about your computer but so glad you now have a replacement. OH MY GOD..It cut short..Where is the rest?…Man…Well I supposed Tina came in peace..Just be careful for what she have to say…Cuz POTUS is very fragile ATM.
