THE L WING – Chapter 156
Narration of First Lady Tina Kennard-Porter
I am standing looking at the preparations for Shane and Carmen’s wedding. Carmen and I have been in Virginia since yesterday morning. Bette and I are paying for everything as our wedding gift for our two closest friends. Carmen comes across and looks in awe at the streamers and decorations going up inside the giant marquee that is now against the main dining room of our house.
“I still cannot believe that all of this is for Shane and I “
“You better get your head around it – it looks great “
“It does — thank you so much Tina “
“it’s the least we can do for both of you – we like both of you so much”
Carmen rubs her back – I see that she is getting tired
“Come and sit down “
We both sit on the window seat that has a great view of all the activity in the marquee and also so when Marine One arrives we will see our women arrive. Bette rang me an hour ago to tell me that they were about to leave Washington.
“You and Shane need an early night after dinner “
“How nervous were you ?”
“Well before the wedding that didn’t happen because she was ill I was a bag of nerves but the second time I was totally calm because I knew it was happening and Bette didn’t “
“Do you ever regret getting married ? “
“No – I love Bette and I know that if I hadn’t wanted to get married she wouldn’t have pushed me but it was the most obvious thing for us. We knew how we felt and we knew that we were going to spend the rest of our lives together – I love her and I know that she loves me “
“She’s actually more excited about being a mom than Shane “
“I think they are as bad as each other. Bette caught Shane reading a catalogue about cribs “
Carmen laughs “ Really ? “
“Yeah – Bette was teasing her until Shane pointed out that Bette’s got a book of baby names in her briefcase “

Sounds like there IS another chapter coming before next weekend, just not for this story. And there ARE sweet things that diabetics CAN eat. Have fun! But ally, if it’s only 5 degrees in Virginia, I assure that Shane wouldn’t be taking a walk, nor would anyone have taken the time for hugging and kissing out of doors. That’s when you run for shelter. And regardless of the temperature, I hope Shane soon realizes that’s exactly what she should do. I just wish you’d let Bette torture Jodi a bit more.

Hey Ally, Long time no comment but am back now until work takes over again. Now onto this fabulous fan fiction. I am loving every word you write. It is great to see Bette and Tina becoming parents and dealing with all the day-to-day issues that can arise during this magical time. OK it ain’t all moonlight and roses but where there is love and respect, wonderful things will happen. This latest crisis has once again reaffirmed their love and you amazing ability to pull the rig form my feet. You create such a fantastic adventure. I am happy to be along for the ride. Shane probably went out for a late night burger and fries. Okay maybe not, but a burger and fries would be awesome right now.

Hum I have some notes about this chappy – 1) I could really see Bette in leather jacket and black pants… soo hot! LOL 2) 5 degrees and Tina was with a cotton shirt? Id be dead by then! 3) Shane is missing and you intend to write another one next week?? Where’s the pretty clever lady to start some needed persuasion??
