    the L saga: Episode Twenty

Bette pulled up to her house and parked her car. She got out of her car and walked up to her house. She opened her door and walked in.

“Tina,” she walked down the hall towards the bedroom. “Tina.” She walked into the bedroom, and Tina wasn’t in sight. “Where the fuck is she?” Bette looked out her window and saw Tina sitting on the lawn chairs drinking. She sighed heavily and slid the door open. She walked out of the bedroom and out to the pool. She saw Tina drinking the rest of the wine from the glass and licked her lips. Tina looked up and saw Bette.

“I don’t want to talk to you.”

“Tee—we’re never going to grow with we don’t talk. You didn’t even want to listen to a word I said earlier. Now, you’re going to listen to me.” Tina sighed heavily and rolled her eyes.

    “I’m listening.”

“What you say earlier was a mistake. Audrey was coming on to me, and I told her that I was in love with you and wanted to be with you.”

“So what the fuck was she doing on your lap?”

“She sat down on my lap, I told her to get off of me, and that’s when you came in.” Bette shook her head. “I want you to understand that I don’t love anyone else. I’m in love with you Tina. If I wasn’t in love with you, I probably would have cheated, but I didn’t.”

“Wow—you’re making it easier on yourself.” Tina shifted in the chair.

“I want to be honest with Tina. I don’t want to lie to you anymore. I want to candidly honest with you.”

Tina closed her eyes and looked at Bette. “Well—I have something to tell you.”  A look of fear came across Bette’s face. “It’s nothing scary, so calm down.” Tina slowly got up from her chair and walked over to Bette. “I love you, and I wanted to tell you that I was wondering if—,” Bette looked at Tina.

    “Wondering what?”

“If we could start at a family again.” Bette relaxed and smiled.

    1. Not at all bad from someone with writer’s block – have a couple of wines, it seems to loosen the tongue, not sure about the brain cells though. Anyway, I am babbling, and you certainly know how to write an interesting fiction – block or no block, so keep it coming.

    2. *throws hands up in the air* Thank god Tina listened…so what it took a few glasses of wine to sit still and listen but it was done. I hope they can move forward and have the family they want so bad. I can still see the love and you write it so well…I see no writer’s block here. More please.
