Bette took Lucy in her arms and placed her gently in the car. As she did Tina took care of Emma. Once they were all inside Tina turned to Bette

Tina; thanks..we were trying to find a taxi

Bette; Tina..why didnt you come in and get your keys.

Tina: ( tears in her eyes).you were shouting and I made you unhappy so .

They arrived at Bettes house. Both women picked up the children and headed for Tinas. As they got there they realized that Tina didnt have any keys and Bette had posted them through the letterbox.

Tina: bloody *****, can this day get worse.

Tina began to cry.

Bette: hey, hey..( turning to look at Tina), come on, lets stay at mine tonight, is that ok wee Scottish ones?

Emma: hey another sleep over!!!!!!!!!!

Bette was trying to keep the girls happy and she was doing just that. Tina knew that the girls liked Bette and she was glad that Bette was in good fettle with them even although she had annoyed her.

The girls were laughing as Bette gave them her t-shirts to wear. They were popped into a big double bed and were asleep in no time. Tina and Bette made their way to the kitchen.

Bette; can I get you anything

Tina; eh just some warm tea and then I think that I could sleep for a year..

Bette took that as a hint that Tina didnt want to talk or be with her. They sat in silence until Bette could stand it no longer

Bette; Tina..what happened todayat the school and ..where did you go later?

Tina: (sipping her tea and looking at Bette)..I told him to stick his school up his arse..told him if he said anything about you again..I would sort himthen visited school number 2 on my list.another catholic one, but smaller and nicer.and its walking distance, I think.got a taxi there..then took the girls for dinner.then met you.

Tina: Bette, there was no way on this earth that I was going to let Mr ***** say anything about younot a chance..I was so hurt when I came out.I find it difficult to talk when I feel like that..I asked you to go outside because I didnt want to embarrass you as I told him how much of a pig he was..and I was afraid that if you heard me you would see my heart and ..see that I am falling.. for you..
