    The Gift

“Come on, baby girl” Kit said helping Tina up carrying her to her office.

    Present Time

Tina sat on the toilet playing with her wedding band. She didn’t even deny it. Leaving Bette had never entered her mind “I love her, I still love her” she thought “I just don’t know how to not love her. Why? Because she’s my wife and I made a vow to her for better and for worst” Tina was sick of crying and shedding tears for someone who had broken everything sacred and special in their marriage for her own personal enjoyment. Damn you Bette she thought how could you.

“I have to get of here” she said to herself as she got up and ran into the bedroom where Bette was having a heated argument with someone on her cell phone. Tina grabbed the phone from Bette’s hand throwing it across the room where it smashed in to the wall.

“What the fuck” Bette grasped out looking angrily at Tina.

“That felt fucking good” Tina said as proceeded to take her jacket and sneakers from the closet.

“Where are you going?” Bette asked gruffly not really caring. Tina sensed the not so caring question.

“To find someone to fuck me” she said as she walked out the bedroom.

Bette grabbed Tina “The hel…” but was cut short by Tina grabbing and swinging the framed photograph of them at their wedding at her head. Bette fell to the ground her head felt like it had been split in two. Maybe she had pushed Tina to her breaking point as she heard the front door slam shut.

    ************

Tina furiously got into her car she couldn’t believe she had just done that Bette she wouldn’t lie to herself it did feel good especially destroying that damn cell phone which she had always come in second to. She drove away hoping to clear her thoughts and ease her mind. That’s when she asked herself the biggest question “Do you want to divorce Bette?” her mind screamed “YES” but her heart screamed “NO”. She hit the steering wheel “Why do I love her so much” she screamed out loud “why, why, whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy” she continued screaming failing to notice the red light and the oncoming truck.

    1. Andy thanks for sharing this :o) you wrote it nicely but the story itself is …Ugh… Such a depressing story :-( the affair, the separation for good, and how Bette makes life so meaningless…

    2. andy84803–Your post is fantastic, with wonderful story telling and great writing. You can tell from the comments that readers were enmeshed in the world you had created, so much so that you have evoked strong emotions. Please please do not be discouraged by the 4-stars. It reflects readers’ response to any story in which either Bette or Tina dies. It has nothing to do with the quality of your wRiting or story telling I am certain that you steeled yourself against that reaction when you posted but I am sure that it still hurts. Please keep writing and sharing with us,
