    The Gathering 01.32 –  Crux
    Moments

     

                Sam
    stood outside of the ER doors, it had gotten suddenly quiet and most of the
    patients had either been discharged or moved to other services in the
    building.  Sam
    leaned back with her hands on her lower back and heard the soft pop of it as
    she stretched. 

     

                “That’s gross.”  Marty stated stepping out into the cool air
    and ruffling     Sam‘s hair with his
    huge hand.  Sam
    snorted and tried to push her thick hair back into place, failing miserable.

     

                “It feels good, so go
    gross somewhere else.”  She quickly
    cracked her knuckles, and neck, making Marty cringe at the sounds.

     

                “Oh, quit it Willow.”  She laughed then the seriousness of the
    night, and the reason she was still there cloaked her usually good mood with a
    darkness she didn’t like.

     

                Why had she told Shane
    that she thought they should have an open relationship?  Dumb, but she knew that Shane
    was a ‘been there, done that’
    girl.  Why
    would she ever want to be saddled to one person?

     

                “Can I ask you
    something Marty?”  He nodded, seeing her
    serious eyes and posture.  He adopted the
    same pose, studying her.

     

                “You just did, but
    being that I like you, you can ask another question.”      Sam
    snorted, almost walking away, but then.

               

                “Do you thinking
    having an open relationship is a bad thing?” 
    He pondered for a long moment, looking down at the short tomboy. 

     

                “No.  And yes. 
    It all depends on the two people that are doing the relationship
    thing.  This about you and     Shane?”  She nodded, biting the inside of her lip.

     

                “She’s going to
    therapy every week.  She’s very.  Wild is that a good word?  She’s had a lot of trauma in her life,
    physical and mental, but she’s a tough woman. 
    Your match I’m sure.”  Marty said,
    and she nodded, finding the words hard to come up with at the moment.  “I also think that she’s gone through a lot
    and might need more time to settle into what you are looking for.  You are looking for a monogamous relationship
    yes?” 

     

                “I never had one
    before,     C.J. didn’t want that, and
    so we never had one.”   Marty took a long
    deep breath.  This was something that he
    hadn’t known about C.J. and Sam.

     

                “This old man needs to
    be a *****.”      Sam
    burst out laughing and hugged her friend. 
    Marty hugged back, and kissed her forehead.

    1. For some reason I see a JR coming out and really play hell with the gang. Like a Tina and Sam I mean for real this time. So Alice and CJ boy that would be a low blow. Shane should drop the actress like a hot pototoe.and go home to Sam.. thanks bvh

    3. Wow, Alice had a thing with CJ? Awesome LOL. It’s so obvious that neither Sam nor Shane want an open relationship. They just think that the other one wants it. Talking is the key here, I hope the get to do that before it’s too late. hehehe, and that little scene with Bette and Tina was sooo HOT. Great chapter.
