    (Bette’s Penthouse)

Bette: ( talking to herself) Come on Peggy, you said that you would call when you told Tina where I am.

    ***Phone Rings***

Bette: Hello! Oh Peggy, finally. So she is on her way over here. ***** yeah, I am nervous. This is the first time in a year that I will be talking to her face to face. Right, okay. Thank you, Peggy.

    ****Knocking on door****

Tina: Oh *****! Did I really just knock on her door. What if she doesn’t want to see me. Maybe I should just leave.

    (Tina turns to leave)

(Bette opens the door to see Tina leaving)

Bette: Wow, you are getting really good at leaving and not saying anything.

Tina: I…ummm…oh so you are home.

    Bette: Nice try!

Tina: Look this isn’t easy for me.

Bette: Oh so you think that this is a walk in the park for me? I guess you must have forgotten that it was you that had an affair and walked, no ran out on me and our marriage. It was you who made our friends believe that I was the one who had the affair. It was you that made me feel like I wasn’t enough for you. You can stop me anytime here if any of this is coming back to you.

Tina: Look, maybe we should wait to talk about this.

Bette: Tina if we wait there won’t be a “this” to talk about. Just give me one reason why I should even think about taking you back.

Tina: I can see in your eyes that you still love me and I know that you can’t tell me that you don’t.

Bette: Tina, T you’re right, I do still love you but that doesn’t change just how much you hurt me. When we got married you said that I was your first, last and forever. I cherished that and now it isn’t true and I don’t know why?

Tina: It wasn’t anything that you did, baby. You are everything to me. I thought that somehow that I had failed you when I lost our son and that you would never look at me the same.

Bette: It wasn’t just you who lost a son, Tina. I know that you never saw me cry and the reason is because everyone expected me to be the strong one. God T, I never could of gone through what you did. Being at the doctor’s office by yourself when you found out and then coming home to an empty house. Do you know how that tore me up not being there for you. You are so strong T, I never could of handle finding out that kind of news like you did.

    Tina: What?

Bette: As much as I try to act all strong and together, really I am not. T, you are my rock. You are everything that I wish I was, you are everything that I need. What I said at the gala, all of it was true. I almost got away with killing myself, I mean I didn’t have anything left to live for. In fact I was in the hospital for a week.

Tina: Baby, you tried to kill yourself!

Bette: Yeah. I took what was left of your zanx pills and washed it down with bourbon. What did I have to live for, my heart, my life was gone and I didn’t know if I was ever going to get you back.

Tina: Why didn’t you fight me to stay?

Bette: I was afraid and ashamed, and because I thought that I was giving you what you wanted.

Tina: So why did you come after me now, after all this time?

Bette: A wise friend told me that you should never underestimate the power of love and the hold that it has on people.

    Tina: Shane.

Bette: Yeah! Shane told me that all great things were worth fighting for even if you lose in the end. So, I figured I would never know the outcome if I didn’t fight for the one thing that meant more to me than my own life. You!

Tina:Bette, baby can you ever forgive me?

Bette: T, I forgave you a long time ago. I realize that this was a journey that we needed to take in order to make us stronger.

Tina: I love you so much Bette Porter.

Bette: I love you too, Tina Kennard.

    Tina: Kennard-Porter.

    Bette: What?

Tina: I want to change my name to match yours.

Bette: I that is the case why don’t we use Kenter.

    Tina: Yeah, I like that.

TBC….What do the kids have to say.
