The escape and The escape…in the mirror (Part 24)
„That’ll calm me down?” “It doesn’t?” “Well, there’s no comparison, is there?” “You think not? Well, yes I was a child and could not resist but basically you couldn’t too. I mean, the way I see it, you did this for Dana, right?” “Yes.” “You see. I personally think that is real love, if you make a fool of yourself for your partner sometimes. You should be proud of you, Dana should be proud of you.” “The funny thing about it is: she has seen this the same way and she said the same.” “You see.” “But, nevertheless, nobody gets me in a stupid costume again in the future.” “And look at it that way. You always said that it is important to always draw yourself into the conversation so that the community doesn’t forget you. Well and you made yourself guaranteed unforgettable.” Well finally, now Alice had to laugh too, a short thoughtful view to the ceiling. „Well I didn’t mean that exactly like that. ‘Al – the marmot’ would not be my first choice as a nickname.” “As long as everyone knows your real name and doesn’t address you just as marmot, I wouldn’t be worried about this.” “You mean, it could be even worse?” Oh. “Well, not really.” How do I get out of this again? I am afraid there’s no elegant inconspicuous way from this remark. “How am I to understand: ‘Not really?’” Fuck, fully stepped in. “I think it’s fantastic that you did it for Dana and only that is important.” “There you are right, but sure enough I will hang a sign with my name on it around my neck tomorrow.” “Exactly, so that the community calls you ‚The woman with the sign around the neck’ on the day after tomorrow.” We both laughed.
Alice told me of the others, that Shane had a new relationship. “Shane has a relationship? You’re joking?” “No seriously. As it seems it is pretty serious for Shane.” “That’s nice for her.” “Yes. I hope that she does not return to her old behavior pattern again. That Carmen is a wonderful woman and she hasn’t deserved that. You have met her … at that evening at the Planet when you suddenly disappeared.” “Yes, I remember, she was sweet. What about Kit?” “The Planet runs very well and apart from this crazy new manager, whom she pulled ashore, she has found a lot of new friends. We thought, well, as Bette disappeared that she would seize the bottle again. But no, she got through it. I am very, very proud of her.” “Me too. You have to know, I would have liked to assist her.” “Hey, Tina, everyone understood that. You wanted to pull yourself back. You needed your power for you. You couldn’t help Kit.” “Probable you are right.” “However that is the past, promised?” “I promise!”
