    The Black Flag Ch.8

“Man over board!!!” Carmen yelled leaving the pained pirates behind that were seeking her aid. “Shane’s gone over!” Carmen panicked and yelled loudly to Mark who had seen the whole thing unfold. He had already gone to work as he grabbed a long line from the deck and took the thick rope in his teeth. Before Carmen could get another word out, the pirate Captain had leapt off the bulwark and dived into the water.

Carmen’s eyes went even wider suddenly feeling alone and not knowing what to do. She looked to the line as it quickly snaked out over the bulwark and into the water trailing after Mark. It didn’t take her long to realize the line wasn’t tied to anything so she quickly grabbed hold of it before it completely unravelled and went over the vessel and became useless.

She felt the line jerk in her hand and it pulled her forward and onto her front causing her to scrape her elbows open on the deck. She felt it pull her forward and she struggled to get back to her feet. It pulled her right to the bulwark and she had to fight hard not to let go or let it pull her into the water too.

She let out her shaky breath as she waited anxiously for any sign of them. She wasn’t sure if she should start trying to pull them in or wait until she could see them. Her eyes danced side to side over the churning waters trying to find them. She was scared that she’d not be able to see them, and the waves started to create illusions in their movement. She was sure a minute must have passed before it happened, when Mark came to the surface line still in his teeth with his arm wrapped tight around an unconscious pirate.

Automatically Carmen felt better, she knew it wasn’t over yet but just seeing Shane and knowing that the sees hadn’t claimed another victim just yet gave her hope. She immediately began to pull on the line and found it to be much harder than one would think as the waves tried desperately to pull the pirates farther from the ship.

“Victor!!!!” Carmen called up to the large man high in the shrouds and before she could even call his name a second time he landed behind her with a mighty thud. His face was set like stone as he grabbed a hold of the line in front of Carmen and began to pull hard on the line reeling it in like his very life demanded it.

    1. So still in love with this story. You write very well, and I’m also glad to see you’re not discouraged by the predominant tibette crowd. Keep on keepin on. Thanks for the awesome post. BTW I love your Shane but I’m waiting for Shane’s past conquests to show and what a show that will be ;)

    2. please go on your story is interesting and it’s one of the few about Shane. I’m curious to see Carmen’s reaction when she finds out Shane is a girl lol
