That’s What Friends Are For [Chapter Eleven]

    “I need advice, guys.”

“Mm, what’s up?” Tina murmured, before kissing Bette on the lips again.

“I think I’m in love with Dana.”

Bette immediately yanked her head back in surprise, “What the… Seriously?”

“It’s not a big deal, right?” Alice said, more to reassure her then anything else.

    “No it’s-”

“It’s a big fucking deal, Al.”

“Bette!” She poked her in the arm before scrambling off her lap, “Alice, how long have you felt this way for?”

With a very loud sigh, Alice sunk to the floor, “A few months but she’s all… in love with the soup chef.”

“Soup chef?” Tina asked with confusion evident on her face.

“Lara Perkins…” Bette manoeuvred her body around to Alice, where she sat down beside her and wrapped an arm around her back. “Have you told her?”

“I can’t!” Alice shrieked, “I hate rejection. I will get rejected.”

Tina shuffled nervously from one foot to the other as she tried to work out something intelligent to say, but nothing popped up in her head. Instead of standing there looking like an idiot, she decided to continue with working on her apartment. This gave Bette and Alice the opportunity to talk in private.

“What do you think she’ll say if I tell her?”

“To be honest, Al. I have no fucking idea.”

    “She’ll hate me.”

“No, of course she won’t hate you. Stop being so fucking silly.”

    “How do you know that?”

“She loves you, Al. She may not be in love with you, but she loves you.”

That seemed to satisfy Alice for now because she stopped talking about it and continued on the wallpaper. She wanted to complete it as fast as possible so she could get the hell out of there.

    “Babe?”

“Yeah?” Bette called back, rising to her feet.

“Do you want to rent a movie tonight?”

“That sounds like a great idea.”

    Later on in the evening…

“To be honest, I didn’t like it that much. The acting was terrible, don’t you think?” Tina directed to Bette who was still positioned on the couch as she retrieved the DVD.

    1. Awwwww this was too cute. I love how tender Bette was, and attentive in making sure Tina was ready to make love. I smiled with the whole “I love you,” “I love you more,” “Not possible,” lines. My wife and I used them so much long distance, and still today when she calls me in between her college classes. I’m liking this story quite a bit. Alice, you pegged her personality so right, and loved this line when Alice tells B&T to get a room. “We do have a room-” Bette began. “You’re just in it.” ROFLMAOO!!!! I could see that scene playing out before my eyes. Thanks for sharing your talent with the site. Looking forward to more.
