She drove up the impressive and very long driveway, parked up, took a deep breath and walked to the door, this was it, no turning back now.

Ringing the bell, she knew everyone would be there.  Sunday was family day, by now they should just be sitting down for dinner.  She couldn’t hold back the smile and a tear when her mom opened the door.

“Hi mom, I’m home”

“oh my God, come here, give me a hug.”

They held on to each other and let the tears flow.  A mother who couldn’t believe that her little girl was home and a daughter who was happy to be in her mother’s arms again.  God how many times had she just needed a hug from her mom, but could never have one, cause they were thousands of miles apart. 

“honey dinners on the ta… what the, sweetie what are you doing here?  I thought I was picking you up from the airport next week”

She let go of her mom and ran in to her dads arms

“Hi dad, I wanted to surprise you”

“Well, this is a great surprise, welcome home”

“So where is everyone?”

“Their all in the dinning room”

“Well then, lets go surprise them too”.

Her dad led the way sporting a huge smile, his baby girl was home.

Helena sat in the office going over the resumes for the next days interviews, wishing for the old days working at mummy’s foundation, when she had someone else that could interview people.  She hated the whole process, she knew out of the 10 interviews they had, that only 1 or 2 of them would be any good.

“Kit, can’t we just hire someone to do this for us”

“But then Helena my dear, we would have to interview someone for the job to interview someone, a little ironic, don’t ya think!”

Helena chuckled “I see your point.  It’s just so frustrating, like we haven’t got enough to do already.”

“Keep your chin up girl, this time tomorrow we shall hopefully have a manager for this place or Hit and if we’re really lucky, one for both.”

“I really hope so Kit, we could both do with a break.”

“You can say that again, the only time I get to see Sonny these days is at the club.  I hate to ask, but do you think you can cover for me this weekend, Sonny wants to take me up the coast for a couple of days.”

“Of course I can, just know that I will be asking the same of you at some point.”

“I don’t doubt it honey.”
