Sun Salutations: Chapter 20
Previously:
They slept snuggled together in Tina’s haven. And although this room had been tainted with the naughty affirmations resulting from passionate lovemaking, it was still a haven. A place of safety and of peace. A place offering favorable opportunities and conditions. The love that Bette and Tina made was most definitely a favorable condition. Bette had never felt so much intense & passionate adoration in all of her previously straight life.
Throughout the night, whenever Tina regained any amount of consciousness, she would whisper in Bette’s ear that she loved her. Bette slept better than she had in a long time. But then again, she always slept better with Tina beside her.
Chapter 20 – You bring me joy.
“The world is good. I feel whole and directed. Touch my Joy with me. I cannot keep my smiles in single file.” – Peter McWilliams
The break of day came much too soon for an exhausted but chipper sun-kissed blonde. She sat cross-legged on the floor beside her slumbering girlfriend who was covered to the tip of her head with a soft chenille blanket. Tina smiled widely at the silhouette of the same woman who had boldly & unknowingly stolen her heart. Bette Porter was guilty as charged for loving Tina Kennard and was prepared to serve a life sentence for her crime if necessary. Tina was thinking to herself that a life sentence of loving Bette just might be necessary.
Middle-of-the-night lovemaking caused the tireless twosome to end up sleeping on the floor of Tina’s study. Tina had gotten out of bed to make sure the window in her office was closed. After the sleepy yoga instructor secured the latch firmly, she spun around to find Bette standing directly in front of her revealing a dazzling, glow-in-the dark smile. A simple, comforting embrace turned into passion as thick and silencing as the darkness of Tina’s office. Books of yoga, meditation and healthy eating tumbled helplessly to the floor as the two lovers bumped noisily against the attractive, yet unstable maple bookshelf that Tina’s dad had made. Sturdiness was never a forte of the craftsman.
Tina sat on the floor observing the calm, patterned breathing of the chenille clad woman still very much in deep slumber. How she yearned to slowly kiss Bette into a state of consciousness, but knew that wouldn’t happen anytime soon. Bette was just starting to sleep deeply enough to reap the benefits of the natural healing and restorative process of sleep. The fine facial lines born of worry and stress were beginning to dissipate and the once sad brown eyes occasionally sparkled with a trace of hope for those lucky enough to see. Tina was indeed one of the lucky ones. She witnessed this revelation for the first time last night and committed that moment in time to her memory for future retrieval. This thought alone made for a very good morning.

This is one of my favorite stories. Thanks for the update–I’m looking forward to the next one.
Greentea, I would love for Tina to help me out in ANY way, but I’d rather not have my ass kicked by Bette thank you! :D
Beautiful chapter!! I’m glad that B&T were able to have such a peaceful and relaxing day together. I hope it stays that way, although I’m getting a bad feeling about Tina’s conversation with Helena. Thank you!! Can’t wait for your next chapter, greentea! :)
Tea is such a relaxing beverage. Please make another pitcher real soon.
The shower wasnt cold enough…LOL…Great chapter…hope that Tina and Helena can soon try and get along for Bette sake! Post soon.
Greentea, i would love to have Tina atke me to where noone has gone before. B&T lovin at its best. great chappy
Greenie, I think the order would be spring roll, peaches and then oreos will milk. Oh, and I’m a traditionalist…no double stuffed oreos for me, I like the “regular” ones just fine. Btw, I’m a junk food addict just like your Bette and I wish to God my body looked like hers…alas it does not. Ho hos? I think they are the same as yodels in my neck of the woods. Now as far as the story goes; what a wonderful way to spend the day. I haven’t had one of those since my wee one was born and now I would pay money to have one. While I was reading this I kept thinking “why is Tina not telling Bette about the call from Hel? Was it on purpose or did she truly forget. I see drama on the horizon. Thanks for another great chapter!
Mmmmm…*releases breath* nice!! –>thats my initial reaction. Okay..as before I will think of what else to say a lil and then be back. I do NOT know why your story has that effect on me…*shrugs* SO unsettling. lol Its really not, not that aspect at least.
But before I leave for now just two more things. Whats a gazebo?(yea i should know stuff but i dont..lol) and secondly i gotta say that if even possible i luv Bette so much more for wanting to bake this:
” a chocolate cake with chocolate icing.”—*melts at the thought of this* I KNOW I just equalled food with love again Greenie and I dont feel no shame. Its NOT exactly equalling food with love but just luv for someone luving such a thing. Get the difference? lol
Thank you for this beautiful story…now I’m hoping that someone who can write such beauty would be unable to write equal drama…I’m hoping that it just isn’t in you to torture too much….here’s to hope…post soon pls
The length and breadth and depth of this story is astounding considering you have a life as well that you quite often speak too. I am at the point where your responses to readers’ comments amuse and delight me as well as they reveal much of who you are – quite captivating actually. All of this is to say once again – thank you for this story that seems to move on so many levels. And, I might add, moves me on so many levels. lol You do rock, Greentea! Totally.
And….I love the responses that you bring out in the readers as well – such a cauldron of creativity! Perfect for October
A great chapter, love Bette and Tina lovin can’t get enough. Oh ya Tina din’t tell Bette about Helena calling is someone in troble? Post soon.
“You’re my quiet in the storm of life remember?”, well in fact your story is my quiet in the storm of my busy life, it’s become such a joy and a pleasure to read you, this is my haven on earth.
Thank you.
This story is exquisite and you always surpass my expectations.
my angel. tis me, your first. *aaahhh* just a few things that moved me.
“…her slumbering girlfriend who was covered to the tip of her head with a soft chenille blanket.” honey, its the little things in life.
“tina, is bette really sleeping or did you fuck her into oblivion..” green eyed monster rearing. please, im in oblivion, sweetie.
“jesus tina, i just remembered my name a few seconds ago.” lucky her. naw, lucky me.
“lets see what we have here. double stuff oreos, captian crunch, hohos, fruit roll-ups, and harvest cheddar sun chips.” im melting in love.
“im not sure yet tina, do i have a trial period.” well if it doesnt work out, please god, pick me.
“you know a real love letter handwritten on quality stationary, addressed to me.” if you help me write it, peaches, im sure it will get the attention it deserves.
“i want to bake a cake.” bette, honey, im the best dayum cook. please come to my house. free of charge, just for you, only a kiss as a thank you.
“sometimes, like now, i just want to hold on to my sanity for as long as i can…” sanity, over rated.
“the sun had just set, lightning bugs were sparse and in motion, smells of gardenias and petunias hovered in the air and life in general was good.” *sigh*
“when bette felt her lovers hazel eyes lock on her dark brown ones, she smiled.” thanks honey.
your words are apart of me and i love being able to go there with you whenever i want. this was soooo good. thanks, angel, for everything.
Hey Green! You just keep on amazing me with how well written and beautiful this story is! Always happy to see your post and thanks for always having at least 5 or 6 wonderful pages to enjoy!!!!
Hah! This time I’m reading the day it was posted, so I comment. I’m always reading by the way. But a lot of times I have to ‘catch up’ because you’re so prolific. Great as usual…and I always look forward to more.
Beautiful, lovely, romantic…
ahhh…so calming…
But wait…i smell some drama brewing in HelenaLand… hmph…
OK so I thought I would read this one at home, didn’t want to take the risk of falling out of my chair and recieving workers comp. Beautiful as always Greentea. Although there will be bumps in the road ahead for the two always let them find their way back to each other.
Greentea,
Well you’ve done it again – each chapter you write exudes more talent that the last. The words that pour out of you and onto the paper . . . you take me there.
I hope you’re not planning something “sour” in B&T’s future – it’s so much more settling when their lives are sweet and “peachy.” I so loved your Peter McWilliams quote. I hope you have joy in your life, as you deserve it, having spread so much joy to others.
GT, a joy to read as always. And so nice that everything is going so smoothly…at least for now, ha ha. Love the junk food drawer.
ah green. that was so beautiful. this connection is just getting stronger and stronger. But I have this nagging feeling that trouble is ahead because T never told Bette abt the call from Helena. I hope if the ish hits the fan, that it doesn’t go to far. but only time will tell. you know I love this story and I can’t wait for my next fix of the sun goddess and the caramel beauty.
absolutely beautiful greentea. Just amazingly written and conveyed. I’m was hoping for some resolution to what Helena wanted, but I thoroughly enjoyed the way the chapter unfolded. I can see why you wanted to title this chapter “touchdown,” but I think its title is appropriate. At least this time your chapter didn’t send me off to the weightroom needing an excuse for a cold shower like last chapter after making the mistake of reading it at work! ;)
Green, what can I say that I haven’t already said to let you know how your story moves me. I’m not sure there are any words for me to deliver to you. Perhaps you can feel my thoughts from whereever you are and get a glimpse of my affinity for the Sun Salutations Series.
A few questions:
– “once sad brown eyes occasionally sparkled with a trace of hope…She witnessed this revelation for the first time last night” Did this occur when “For a brief sliver of time, Bette did believe Tina’s assurance?”
– Do we get to meet Tina and Bette’s families at any point?
– Remember when I told you that I felt like you were setting up the old one, two punch? Well, I see the left jab coming my way, to be followed swiftly and powerfully by a right hook. However, I am powerless to move out of the way (bobbing and weaving are not my strong point). This is how I feel about the interactons with Helena the Headache. Tina also feels this way because she is aware of the turbulence up ahead. Tell me why did Tina not share the phone call and exchange with Bette? Don’t tell me that she forgot, because I rarely forget when I am forced to interact with people that I don’t care for?
Anyway, I so enjoy the consistent quality, depth, and breadth of your story.
very nice and loved the relaxing and calming pace of this one.
Okay. back now. First of…I had to go back and check on what i wrote in my previous comment and i did indeed compare writing to love. lol DAMNIT..you catch me all the time. Well I luv writing and what to do with it lots and lots so this comparison has its validation.
This chappy was just nice and relaxing and quite humorous..at least the scenes playing in my head. I have this mental picture of Tina happily skipping and jogging through her house and its ticklin me..*haha*
Anyways..their interaction, the conversation they had, the final scene outside in the garden was all so serene and peacful and settling my existing unsettlement. So thanks to you. :-D
I remember you said Tina had some more food hang-ups and would learn some mroe from Bette in that respect. Well Im glad she could show Bette some too:
“The lovebirds even made a stir-fry meal together and Bette couldn’t believe that tofu could taste so good”–AMEN! She better believe it! ;-)YUMM!
(did i mention i love food and i ALWAYS have to call it out in my comments? LOL)…
Anyways.all in all your writing keeps putting me in a good place and has me hooked to that story..besides conveying lots with images i like the detailed descriptions of everything..situations, secenery, stuff. Things like:
“Books of yoga, meditation and healthy eating tumbled helplessly to the floor as the two lovers bumped noisily against the attractive, yet unstable maple bookshelf that Tina’s dad had made. Sturdiness was never a forte of the craftsman.”–like u could have just as well not included it..especially the attractiveness of the bookshelf and that last line but doing it just added something to the description. Mmmm….very neat!
And random lines i pick out like “Dueling tongues finally called a truce.
So, I need to correct my estimate vs. actual column.” catch my eye too all the time, like they catch my attention..I dunno why but maybe its the images they create or the way the include when you dont expect them…they just round off the extra reading fun I have.
To make a long story short…top ace chappy once more Greenie.Keep it up and coming. :-D
Oh and i hope i didnt compare love to something again this time..and if i did, stop calling me out on it dammit.;-) I thought my english is good..but apparently your story gives me issues in self-explanation.! LOL
Yes, confirmed – you are a great lover – I have completely fallen in love with your story – so HOT yet so passionate and loving.
Bette felt her own muscles contract as her hand ventured lower in search of the warm southern hospitality that only Tina could extend.
OMGGGGGGGGG!! This is the bomb! This is the first time I have ever read/heard/saw/ that area of a woman’s body being referred to as Southern Hospitality!
Bravo GT!!!
Ooh, I almost forgot until I was dining on cake a few moments ago, I enjoyed the ladies sharing three things they’d like to accomplish. Baking a cake is a wonderful one. Perhaps Bette should shoot for making cupcakes. The only pan I own is for making cupcakes, and maybe I’ll dust it off and put it to use. I also like Tina wanting to receive a real handwritten love letter –on quality stationary no less.
At least this time I wasn’t reading at work. Awesome. Love all the dialog within themselves. How sweet of Tina to buy all those goodies for Bette, yellow cake with chocolate frosting, yummy my favorite. Little concerned that Tina has not told Bette that Helena called, you know were still working on the trust issue here, she needs to tell her before the night is through. Can’t wait for your next update.
Hi GT great chapter, It is good to see B&T spending some nice and relaxing time together. I noticed that Tina has not told Bette that Helena called her. I wonder if Bette will get anger when she finds out that Tina turned off the ringer on her cell phone. I hope Tina tell her about the call. This is a really good story, please continue.
Ahhh…it doesn’t get much better than this. Just the 2 of them without the hassles of the world. Though I am concerned about Tina not telling Bette about Helena. It may not have been an emergency and all but it’s still a bit risky to not say anything either.
Its one of my favorites too ld18, i don’t know how she does it but this story just captures you. More and More soon!!
Hey Greentea, what a joy to read…loved it, I loved the the treat drawer for all of Bette’s sugar high goodies very nice touch by Tina considering how healthy she eats. Now on another note did Tina really forget to tell Bette that Helena called or was she peeved off that Helena had the audacity to call her home looking for Bette. Is there going to be some trouble ahead for these two?
Hope the running is going well and Tibia starts with a T, hope this is not giving you any problems.
One word comes to mind,( it does not being with T though, sorry about that) …this was “Enchanting”. That was beautiful babe, thank you, your kindness bleeds through to your protagonists.
I always believe that it the occasionally duplicitous mind will be quiet for even 2 minutes, that it will learn a deep truth from the body that it would take years to fathom itself. Why do we question our physical responses like they were foolish, I shall never know. The mind is the key to such release, such freedom, what a wicked ability we can nurture, …. I will stop blathering now, sorry!
Just so dam good ….. thank you.
Well reading 19 chapters yesterday gave me the heaving chest – alas the doctor prevailed with an inhaler. Today, it was very gentle, very emotional and intimate – loved it, till the last page and the chest started another gentle heave, well I loved that too. Well Done.
BTW, don’t put yourself down as far as the awards go – this story will definately be in the running!
You spelled it out and now I am completely unsettled..I read this post yesterday and found myself unable to comment..your words left me speechless, thank you..that has never happened to me before. I don’t see the need to tell you what I want, you deliver everytime, pefectly…my beautiful machine….. :>
Green, you sure know how to make a girl feel special. There’s no connection between one of your characters and you, right? ;) Whattaya mean you’re only going to be posting once a week? What happened to the multiple postings? That makes my otherwise wonderful week end on a sad note.
Anywho, I need to find love so that I can get my very own junk food drawer. Ho-hos bring back childhood memories. Although I wasn’t a fan of the chocolate cake part, I would remove the hard shell icing that surrounds each one, and eat the creamy whipped topping inside. Also, fruit roll ups are so underrated. Yummy yummy for your tummy. I need to pick some up at the grocery store today.
Off the topic of food, since I’m obviousl y hungry, but Tina is in so much trouble. I think her note on the pillow should have informed Bette that Helena called. It may have slipped her mind that Helena rang, but she should have written it down.
Helena and Tina obviously hate each other, but it’s unfair for them to bring Bette into their bitterness. I think it was even wrong for Tina to inform Helena to not call her house. It’s obvious Bette must have given Helena the phone number if she’s calling. Plus, Bette is spending a lot of time at the house of the Sun Goddess. If Tina wants her to continue to stick around, then she should be more than pleasant to incoming calls from her friends.
Tina is still new, and Helena has been there for Bette for over two years. You can’t just dump a good friend. I hope they don’t make Bette have to choose.
Bring on the drama!
Greenie..your story is so amazing and breathtaking….I mean the conversation and the way they are feeling for each other is just comming through in your story….and ofcourse you always bring a smile to my face when I comment…I know I have been away for a while but I have been busy. My new job is really taking my time, but I have time to comment and read your amazing story here. So do post soon ok
where are you?? I miss you beautiful…come back please
Damn that was beautiful and amazing!
