Summer Vacation. Chapter 8
Previously:
“Hey Tina,” replied Lottie, having not recognised their home number, “what’s up?”
“Nothing really …” said Tina, in a friendly voice, “I was just wondering what you’re doing this Saturday?”
“Saturday?” Lottie answered, trying to act like she was thinking about it, “erm … nothing … why?”
“We’re having a barbeque …” said Tina, “here at the house … and we’d love it if you’d come?” she asked
“It’s just a few family friends …” Tina added, sensing Lottie’s hesitance, “mostly people you’ve already met.”
“Alright …” Lottie agreed, “thanks … that’ll be good”
“Okay … 2pm … and bring something,” Tina added, “right, I have to go get Angie to bed but I’ll see you tomorrow, okay?”
“Night Tina” replied Lottie
“Tina?” asked Jo, curiously.
“Kennard,” explained Lottie, as she put down the phone, “Angelica’s mom,”
“Ohh …” said Jo, “yeah.”
Lottie laughed, “Well … are we going to watch this then?” she asked, indicating the DVD she’d brought, “or did you just get me here to get me drunk so I’ll agree to helping with more of your play?”
Chapter Eight.
Bette ambled down the sidewalk, feeling the already rising heat of the New York summer morning on her back. She smiled, in her hand she held a small Saks bag containing a bottle of Tina’s favourite perfume and another containing a beautiful Armani silk scarf. Tina would scold when she saw them but Bette just didn’t care, right then nothing, not even the guy who’d sat next to her on the subway talking to his hand, was going to break her good mood.
It had a lot to do with the two long weeks away from Tina finally coming to a close, or maybe it was because she’d successfully had the people from MOMA eating out of her hand. Clamouring to give her their screen-printing exhibition once it ran out in the autumn, equally eager to take in return the latest photographic collection they had on at the AP. She grinned, maybe it was the way she’d been dressed, or rather undressed, for their meeting which had impressed them so much, she’d remember to thank Tina for that when she saw her.

OH YES THE LOOK! TIBETTE KNOW THAT LOOK VERY WELL….YES BETTE COMIN HOME TO SURPRIZED TINA YIPPEEE…P.P.S.
Yes Bette getting home early is great. What is the connection between Lottie & Bette? You are killing us here…will Bette see what Lottie looks like and know her? How will Lottie react when seeing Bette face to face? More please.
i think lottie and bette are sisters. i mean bette’s mum gave birth to lottie after she left melvin and found someone else. and that’s how they share the artistic character. however they are connected, it’s a great story. thanks a lot and post soon!
The whole chapter was superb…and Bette’s going home early/sweet, Tina will be so happy…will she faint when she sees look-a-like Lottie??? Angie is a mischief!!!! like a lot of little girlz…and Aunt Alice is ssooooooo informative to Lottie….Jo and Lottie?? more family members???…love it…look forward to the next chapter.
That wasn’t nearly long enough to fix my addiction to this story. Like everyone else I have my theories on who Lottie is, but I guess I will have to wait and see. I love this story. Please Post Very Soon.
I’m surprised Lottie didn’t ask Alice about the line between Helena and Tina. And Angie…OMG. The look. LOL!
Yes homeward bound. Can’t wait for Tina and Bette to get together. Oh wait, that means that Bette will get home the night of the party. That should be interesting.
Good chapter and Angie is so cute, Bette is coming home!
YAY!!!… Dreams DO come true! Bette coming home early is awesome!!! I hope it will be during the barbecue, when everyone is around… And here comes the big entrance of Bette Porter! Anyway, the morning phone call was so sweet. I’m sorry but I’ll say it again, there is something really special and awesome about your writing about B&T. I can’t get enough of it! Thanks.
Wonderful story! Thank you!
