    Summer Vacation. Chapter 41

    previously.

The audience clapped again, but Lottie halted in the wings, blushing, Jo glared to her to come, but she was finally dragged on stage by Mattie, who ran off and reappeared second later, pulling her with him,

Lottie blushed crimson, and gave a feeble wave out to the audience, before rushing to the safety of Jo’s side,

Jo smiled, and as the organiser, took the microphone from their Headmistress, “I’d like to start by thanking the children,” she said proudly, turning back to encourage the crowd to congratulate them once again,

    The kids grinned giddily,

“And also the stage crew,” Jo continued, encouraging another cheer, “for all their hard work and excellent timing,”

From up on the runners, a couple of shy looking teenage boys made their presence known with a fluttering of lights,

Jo chuckled, “And of course to all the parents for help with costumes, snacks and for ferrying your children back and forth to rehearsals,” she paused, noting from Lottie’s body language that she was unlikely to appreciate a personal acknowledgement from her as well, but Angie would be waiting, “and I couldn’t finish,” Jo went on to say, “without just thanking the person standing next to me, who saved a very complicated play and managed to help turn it into something funny, light hearted and thoroughly enjoyable to work on, so Lottie,” she paused, turning to Lottie and facing her, “the children would all like to say thank you …”

At her words, Angie and Stacie walked on stage again, carrying a gigantic bunch of flowers and a huge card, with nervous, energetic smiles on their faces,

Lottie blushed, hugging them both as they passed her the flowers and the rest of the stage broke out into cheer,

Miss Bancroft stepped away, and for a minute or two the audience and parents were all but forgotten, as the cast of children leapt on Jo and Lottie, jumping excitedly, squealing and shouting “Thanks!”

    Summer Vacation – Chapter 41

Bette sat bolt upright in bed, her heart pounding and her chest about ready to explode, she grasped herself hard, taking deep labouring breaths as she waited for the commotion to wake Tina up,

Tina stirred, opening one eye half a slit to see where the heavy breathing was coming from. Bette sat in bed beside her, bent over double with fear in her eyes as she anxiously waited for her heart to calm itself,

    6. Hey all, thanks, I’m not stopping, no way … don’t get me wrong, it’s just after chronic writers block I always get super edgy/anxious before posting again … anyway … for Nanc, the link to the spotlight on the main discussions board is http://discussion.l-word.com/viewforum.php?f=73 I hope that works, it starts new each week on a Sunday :-D, I’ll reply to comments properly next post … and it won’t be weeks and weeks I promise! 7. Sofa, I’m really glad your back with this story, I’v really missed it. I love reading about how the whole family interacts and can’t wait for Lotties’ party. Thank you. Md

    8. What a pleasant surprise to find this chapter tonight! I still love this story Sofa and I’ll keep reading if you keep writing! B&T caught out by Angie…LMAO!

    9. You know that I love this story. I can never get enough of it. I can picture Bette and Tina enjoying a little time to themselves and relaxing after the little excersie session. I can also see Angie’s reaction after catching her moms in the relaxation mode after the exercise session.

    10. I love the way you weave together an emotional maturity, psychological insight and beautiful love making. This is my favorite paragraph.”Bette cleared the plates from the table, leaving Tina to sit and think, the summer time was like a role reversal for them, with Tina the one working the most hours and Bette mostly off during the day, it gave them time to switch roles and remember that sitting so firmly in ideas of who they were based on jobs and money was the thing that almost killed them in the first place.”

    11. hey baby, i told you liked this chapter, and you didn’t dissapoint with the rest:) hahahaha, tina and bette got caught…thats funny. i hope it never happens to me…well anyway, i’m just saying, locks are good! and thankx for being realistic about the one issue we’re all always avoiding–these people are parents and i know that i often write their kids ‘away at a babysitter’ which makes me laugh that no one ever calls me a fool for doing it. anyhoo, great chapter, i’m thrilled you posted, and yeah…hehe…you’re the cutest. xo

    12. HAHAHA! Bette & Tina caught red-handed by their own daughter. Funny and embarrassing as hell! Welcome back, sofa!!! I’m glad you’ve come around that dreaded Writer’s Block. And I don’t see myself getting tired of reading updates on this story anytime soon. I hope you’ll get on a roll again but if not, don’t worry and pressure yourself. We’re patient, we’ll just wait for your next post whenever it comes. Thank you!!! ;>

    13. So happy to see you back, sofa! Very glad to hear you’re not thinking of stopping ’cause this just gets better every chapter. Love Angie’s gross reaction and look forward to Lottie’s birthday bash. Enjoy the spotlight and I may drop by for that hot chocolate…mmmm.
