“Nothing babe, look, I’d better go, we don’t want a repeat of this morning and it’s late here.”
“I know,” said Bette. “I just miss talking to you as you fall asleep.”
“I know,” Tina laughed, “Angie said we should buy web cams!”
“We should!” Bette exclaimed, “We definitely should, and not for the reason Angel thinks either.” She finished, dropping her voice into a sultry sexy tone.
“Baby,” Tina whined, “Not fair when I can’t have you for another 13 days.”
“I love you.” Bette whispered. “Sleep well.”
“I love you too.”
Chapter Three:
The following day Tina and Lottie were having lunch at ‘The Planet’ again with Lisa. Lottie was flicking through a magazine she’d picked up off the counter, aware that those two probably ate lunch here every day to socialise as friends as much as eat. She was trying her best not to listen to their conversation and look as though the magazine held her full attention but about two seconds after opening it she’d realised it was a gay magazine and was trying to look nonchalant about it.
“So did Alice get the interview with Mandy that she wanted?” Tina asked.
“No not yet,” replied Lisa. “Seems Mandy is playing hard to get, or doesn’t like that Al once dated Helena, or something along those lines. It’s hard on her I suppose, never wanting a ready made family but if you ask me it’s hardest on those two kids.”
Tina agreed. “I know, Bette had dinner with Peggy and Wilson yesterday, she said he’s just devastated, they both are. I know Peggy never liked Winnie all that much but despite all their troubles she did give her two terrific grandchildren. I know Peggy’s sad for them that she’s gone.”
Lottie glanced up at them as they both fell silent. Her gaze was interrupted by Kit walking over.
“Hey Kit.”
“Girl, you do know that’s a ‘girls-only’ magazine, don’t you?” Kit asked, loudly.
Tina looked at Lottie, rolling her eyes and Lottie laughed. “Yes Kit, I thought I might learn something.” She winked.
“Girl, I like you.” Kit passed back, taking a seat beside her at the table. Lottie went back to the magazine, she half hoped they would start talking about Bette, she wanted to know more about her but to come right out and start questioning Tina right away was too suspicious.

I know Lottie’s got something to do with Bette. Now she can’t be Bette’s daughter cos we all know our Ms. Porter was never into guys. But she could be a sister Bette dosen’t know about. Guess I’ll just have to wait for more.
How about daughter of an ex?
I still have a feeling that Lottie will turn out to be Bette’s long lost daughter she had no idea she gave birth to. Lottie is bi-racial too right? I mean the way Tina describes her it would seem like Lottie is a clone of Bette or something. This is gonna kill me until you tell us who the hellafitzgerald this Lottie is. Please post soon

Hey there… i read your first 2 chapters last night at work… (i can’t comment from work) and i have to say i love this story… at first i thought lottie could be bette’s daughter… but then you said melvin was her father… so i am assuming she is not bi-racial… because angie would of pickup on that right away… so i do believe she is a 1/2 sister to bette and kit… i was also wondering if tina picked up on any thing else… like why lottie did’t do a double take when she met kit… and no mention of tina’s HUSBAND… now we all know she knows who bette and tina are.. but tina doesn’t know she knows… i hope this makes sense… not much sleep today… but i did read what you said … we will know the whole story before long… ok… please continue real soon… later babe

I just caught up with this story and I love it! Lottie is Bette’s daughter from when she was in college…Bette had a boyfriend in college and she got pregnant…the boy’s family is wealthy and Bette gave up her child, this is a part of her past that Tina or anyone one of her friends don’t know about…maybe Kit..but Kit was off on her own while Bette was younger so she may not know. When Bette gets home and sees Lottie she will know…the question is how will Tina react. I am so ready for another post…please make it happen.
You are weaving a drama that is like a puzzle. We cant figure it out yet. Love that Tina misses Bette so much. Get Helena back to LA ASAP. she needs her friends. I’m not guessing yet about LOTTIE. I dont like to be to far off base thanks
Wow, I just caught up and am really liking this story. I get the idea that Lottie is Bette’s sister by her mother. The same mother that ran out on Bette all those years ago. I love how you are writing Tina. She knows that she has made mistakes but is working hard to be the wife and mother that she expected herself to be.
