Something so right – chapter 68

    SOMETHING SO RIGHT

    Chapter 68

Bette looked up at Tina trying to realise that Tina had refused her marriage proposal. She stood up

“I am sorry “ Bette stumbled

“Bette – please listen to me “

“No – you don’t want me – I am sorry that I misread the situation “

Bette couldn’t stop the tears from starting – she was already emotional because of the show and the fantastic reception that it had received

“Bette – please listen to me “

“No – there is nothing left to say “

    “Yes – yes – I need to explain “

Tears streamed down Bette’s face “ You don’t love me like I thought that you did “

    “Yes – yes I do “

Bette didn’t want to prolong this horrendously embarrassing experience for another second. She turned and walked back into the main part of the gallery. Helena saw her first and as she got closer the British woman realised with horror that Bette was crying.

“Bette “ Helena stepped into Bette’s path

    “Leave me alone “

The sight of the supremely professional gallery owner in floods of tears caught everyone’s attention.

“Bette – what’s wrong ?” Alice turned to see Bette walking past her with tears streaming down her face

“What the hell has happened ? “ Alice turned to Helena as Bette swept past them.

“Bette – what’s wrong “ Peggy was just coming back from the toilet. Bette realised the ring box was still in her hand. She dropped it in the nearest bin before going through the doors and out of the gallery

“What the fuck was that about ? “ Peggy demanded

Helena looked to see where Tina was – she looked back at Alice and Peggy

“Bette was going to ask Tina to marry her “ she explained

“WHAT ! “ Alice was shocked – not only at the news but also at the realisation that she was not in the loop with this development

“I take it that it did not go well “ Peggy commented dryly as she took the ring box from the bin and opened it “ This is some rock “

    1. I took my eye off the ball for a second and forgot that this is Ally! She’s a TiBetter and a Drama Queen! I know you will take care of things. I hope Tina finds Bette at the beach and Bette will listen to what Tina has to say! Don’t keep us waiting too long, Ally! I’m really loving this story. PPS

    2. Well they both have things to sort out, but hopefully Bette can see that Tina wasn’t rejecting her, just the idea. I’m sure they can talk this through if Tina ever finds her. Thanks for posting.

    3. If Bette will allow Tina to talk tto her she will understand that Tina’s ideas of marriage are clouded by her parents open marriage. But they are STILL MARRIED, f’ed up or not. Tina needs to make Bette understand that it is the institution of marriage that has her turned off, NOT Bette. I just hope she has the chance to talk with her. I know you love them too AllyE and know that you will eventually fix this. RIGHT? Great as always. PPS

    5. So ol’ meanie Ally is back. I didn’t see this coming. The nonchalant way Tina explained to Helena her rejection of Bette’s proposal is quite disturbing. At that moment, Alice’s description of her as heartless seemed apt. How could she be so casual about it as if they simply had a minor lovers’ quarrel? And why did she not bother to affirm her love for Bette before she rejected her proposal? Ah, drama-rama. I trust that you’ll fix this at your own time and pace, Ally. Thanks a lot for continuously writing and sharing just the same. “>

    6. Life and partnerships are all about give and take. If something doesn’t mean that much to you, but does to your partner then why say no. Bette has made compromises for Tina (with Finn) and she has been there and cared for Tina when evreything fell apart with her Mother. Time for Tina to understand that this meant something to Bette…it’s time Tina bent for her now. Great update Ally!

    7. Great update. I don’t agree with marriage per se either and doing it as I once did for the other person’s sake doesn’t actually mean it’s going to stick. B is going to have to hear T’s point of view and not get so bitter and twisted. Surely she can ‘feel’ T’s love for her? It doesn’t take a $6000 ring to prove or to cement love altho the gesture is nice and of course u can always pawn it when times get desperate.Love what u r doing with this. Thx.

    8. This misunderstanding might just be the end of Bette and Tina…sigh! Tina should know Bette well enough by now to know that her reaction to a NO to her proposal wouold not go down well. I just hope Bette doesn’t do anything rash like drive drunk or take solace in another woman’s bed….what was that reporters name again? I understand Tina’s feelings about marriage but knowing how important it is to Bette I think Tina could be more accomadating and give it a try for Bette’s sake. I’m on the edge her Ally so please post soon :)

    9. Rip my heart out, why don’t you. I LOVE Bette and Tina together. I also see both points of view. They really need to come together and decide on what’s more important being together married or not.

    10. After being a silent reader for years, I know that you are the drama queen – who eventually leads us out of the drama… so I’ll keep that in mind. I understand why Tina doesn’t ‘need’ the ceremony, but id having it wont hurt her, she should consider doing to for someone who marriage means something too.

    11. Wow, what a great chapter. I couldn’t agree more with Tina’s sentiment, marriage is only as good as the committment behind it, sadly lacking in most instances. I hope Tina finds Bette soon!

    12. Aw man… her parents’ marriage is just that… theirs. Just cos they have their own definition of what works doesn’t mean that it has to define any potential union Tina, Finn or Willow might have. Hopefully, Tina can see that at some point. But first, she’s got to find Bette and do some heart-felt talking. Nice chapter, thanks.

    13. Alice went over the line on tina! i think that bette should have an idea of what tina thought about marriage they talk about it enough and witness the fall out of her parents. but tina needs to realise that her and bette won’t be like her parents. i get both sides, but yet again bette took off running when something got hard, she needs to stop running for once! :)PPS

    14. Note to Tina: Guess what? Your parents ARE still married and still together. You really need to stop being a child. If you don’t grow up, it’s probably better that you don’t marry Bette. You’re not old enough.Note to Alice: Shut up, it’s none of your business. You have no right to be angry. Bette asked Tina a question and Tina gave her Tina’s answer. You can feel bad for your friend, you have no right to shit on Tina.

    15. Love it!!!! Ally. Tina needs to find Bette and real fast. I know Bette ran, but when your heart is bleeding you want to get away from what has caused it. Tina needs to grow up and see that what her and Bette have is not like her parents. Thank you PPS

    16. Wow I was happy to see that you had an update just the next day… although I’m still sitting on the edge of my seat Ally… come on pal, do you have the next chapter ready yet? :o)
