Something so right – chapter 54

    Something so Right

    Chapter 54

Bette Porter collected her shopping from her trolley and started to load them into the boot of her car. She was just reaching for the last bag when a beautiful black Bentley pulled up next to her. There were several people in LA would own such a fantastic car but Bette only knew one of them and when she looked into the drivers side of the car she spotted Helena Peabody. The attractive and alpha Brit got out of the car and removed her sun glasses

“Bette – you are supposed to be in North Carolina – what’s happened ?”

Bette put her final bag in the boot and slammed it shut – she sighed

    “It was terrible “

“What the hell have you done ?”

Bette frowned “ Nothing apart from be a great partner to Tina and get her out of a situation that turned ugly “

“Sorry darling – I do see you and wonder if a leopard can change his spots but then when I see you with Tina I know that you are trying so hard and she is so in love with you “

“it’s a two way thing Helena – I love Tina very much “

“Sorry again – what happened ?”

“You have been to the Kennard farm right ? “

“Yes – many years ago “

“And you met her mom and dad ?”

“Yes – Niall and Sarah “

    Bette rubbed her nose

“You are Tina’s oldest friend “ she wasn’t sure where to begin with this one

    Helena raised her eyebrows

    “I am “

“And Tina tells you stuff “

“She tells me a lot yes “

    “About her parents ?”

    Helena nodded

“I don’t know if she has told you this and I don’t want to betray her – I would never do that “

Helena thought for a few minutes “The open marriage crap “

Bette sighed with relief “ Thank God she’s told you – it was the oddest thing “

“When she told me I didn’t pay much attention but it was much later when she told me the full gory story “

“How gory was it at the time ?”

“He was seeing some woman who Tina knew “

    1. Hello AllyE, Now these new additions are coming thick and fast. I love it. Good to see Bette and Helena chat about Tina and her family in an open and friendly manner. I think that Helena’s and Bette’s desire to protect Tina will untie them in friendship. Helena gave Bette some pointers in how to deal with this whole mess. Bette showed that she has grown up immensely from her dalliance and is now fully committed to her girlfriend. then Bette’s return home. Tina was remote and testy at first. Bette’s constant support and comfort won through in the end as Tina opened up and let herself be loved and hugged. So precious and tender. Loved all of it. Your grateful and Loyal Fan.

    2. I understand Tina’s point from her vantage point, but her parents have a system that works for them. Tina is being VERY atipical by judging her mother, while overlooking her father’s behavior. Either you leave the entire situation alone because it is NONE of your business, or you equally address both sides. Bottom line, Tina is a “Daddy’s girl”, been there and done that. PPS :o).

    3. Glad that you are back! I have missed this story!!! Love how Bette is being such a wonderful partner, and how she suppports and nurtures Tina instead of running or being indifferent. PPVS

    4. Frankly some of these people need to grow up; Sarah, Niall, and Tina. Tina will never change the way they view the world and their place in it. They are “60’s free love hippies” and will not change their views. Personally, I think her mother is a “slut,” pure and simple and her father is the male equivalent, although he is a little more discreet than Sarah. Other hippie types came back to the real world of respectability and responsibility, especially when they had a family to care for. Why cana’t Sarah and Niall. At least Bette is there for Tina and will continue to try to help her thru this. Just my opinion. Thanks for posting. Post when you can AllyE.

    5. Hey Ally, I’m glad to see you back and even happier for this update. Boy Tina and her Mom really went at it. I understand Tina’s feelings, but it’s interesting that she doesn’t feel the same way about her Father’s indiscretions. Hope to have another update soon!

    6. Poor Tina, I can’t see them talking anytime soon, she was unfair to her, but I am glad that she has someone that she can lean on. Thanks Ally, I missed this story.

    7. aaahhhh the mother issues!!! But Bette’s right; what about the father??? It must have been hard for Tina and her siblings but they r adults now and if they don’t like what their parents do they should cut the cord. They don’t have to like their parents or agree with their activities. Hard to learn & to do but necessary if we want to be happy, independent adults. PPS.

    8. Great chapter, What makes Tina’s dads behavior any better than her moms. It seems he can do no wrong in her eyes. I hope she lets Bette in and keeps talking. PPS

    9. Oh I missed this story. Hopefully everyone will calm down a bit. I find it strange that Tina continues to think her dad is a saint in all this mess. But someone is always going to be good and someone else bad. Thanks for posting!
