    SOMETHING SO RIGHT

    CHAPTER 139

    Bette prided herself on being able to sleep through just about everything. It had become a vital survival technique because Tina was such a fidget in bed. So Bette had taught herself to snuggle up holding Tina which was comforting and it also stopped the blonde being quite such a disturbance. What she had no experience of was sleeping holding Tina while Niall wandered around during the dark hours. Tina was sleeping peacefully but every time Bette started to drift off again there was a light that flicked on or a door opened or closed or the TV was turned on just a little too loud. So she hadn’t slept in over an hour when she finally got up – she knew that he was in bits but her sleep was something very important .

    Niall was sitting on the sofa channel hoping when Bette padded through to the sitting room wearing the pyjamas that Tina had discarded when they had gone to bed. He was watching a soccer game – the yells of the commentator had been driving Bette crazy. She stood by the television and gave him a look.

    “Did I wake you Bette ?”

    Bette struggled to be diplomatic at 2:30am

    “Yes “

    “Sorry “ he hit the mute button

    “Could you mute the door slamming and all the other din you are making as well ?”

    He looked ashamed “I am sorry Bette – I couldn’t sleep “

    Bette sat down in her favourite arm chair and regarded him

    “I am not surprised “

    “How did I not see what a freaking selfish piece of work Gemma was ?”

    “Because you didn’t want to “

    “No fool like an old fool eh ?”

    “We have all done dumb things in the name of love “

    “As dumb as messing up my relationship of over 30 years and alienating my children and losing just about everything that I have ?”

    “Love does that “

    “I am not sure it was ever love Bette – I was flattered and foolish “

    “Got the tee-shirt “

    He looked at her “I can’t imagine a woman making a fool of you “

    “Women can because I am such a stupid romantic fool. “ she shrugged

    1. Thanks so much for posting this chapter, I have so missed this story. Niall deserved what Bette said to him, he is just a bit too much for my taste. He does need to grow up and just face the music. He “f,ed” up period and this is what happens when you burn your bridges without a thought. Don’t blame Bette at all. And yes, Sarah needs to be happy as well, I just hope she has found her true happiness and that this man deserves her love, trust and companionship and that he can let go of his mistrust of lesbians and give Tina and Bette a chance. If not, he will lose the woman he wants in his life. Great update. Thanks for posting.

    2. Thanks for the update. I really like where you are taking this story. Sarah appears to be like a new woman so different from what she used to be like in the early days. Tina is lucky that her mum loves her so much.

    3. Crap..this..”I want to go back” thing is driving me insane?!… ..Blaming game is not what they need ATM…And avoiding “The talk” will get them nowhere. Especially to Sarah.

    4. Thanks Ally for double posting! :-) enjoy your laze around time while you can, I guess rocky just a bit jealous as he’s not getting more attention as usual :-p And back to the story.. Serve Niall right! Lucky him Bette still tell him in a polite way and civil, looks like the drama from Tina’s family is pretty dragging, I hope it won’t affecting their relationship. Ok… Go to l wing now… :-)

    6. Yeaaah, double post! Nothing worse than a man-baby and Niall is about as pitiful as they come! Sarah would have to be out of her mind to consider taking him back. Bette held her temper quite well, but can’t imagine her or Tina putting up with his whining much longer. Just tell Rocky that the fortnight is almost over and the random yelling will stop! Enjoy you time off and feel free to post in between matches.
