Something so right – Chapter 101

    Something so right

    Chapter 101

Tina had been helping Finn with the orders for food boxes and planting seeds for harvesting in 2-3 months time. They had worked in silence for over 30 minutes just knowing what needed to be done. Finn stacked a box on a crate ready for the delivery driver to arrive and start the procedure to get the food to the customers. He sat down on an upturned crate and looked at his sister.

“I don’t know if this is a horrible thing to say but I hate farm work “

Tina smiled and upturned a crate so she could sit down

“Have you always hated farming ?”

“Its not as interesting as the country club “

“You relay enjoy that don’t you ?”

“The work isn’t hard and I like people watching “ he admitted “some of the people have more money than brains “

“Your height and accent have been a big help “

“Nothing wrong with standing out – that’s what the movie business is all about “

“Didn’t do King Kong any harm “ Tina joked

Finn grinned “Do you think it was fair to leave Bette alone with all the paperwork ?”

“Yes – she is in her element with paperwork – she also runs a highly successful business of her own – the gallery turnover

is fantastic. She’s got a better business brain than me – I am good but she is excellent “

“That just a comment on her business skills or anything else ?” he insinuated

Tina raised an eyebrow at him

    “That’s between Bette and I “

“I lived with the two of you for long enough – I know that you are extremely happy with Ms Porter’s skills in certain areas “

Tina blushed and slapped his leg

“Leave my private life out of this “ she said “I don’t ask about the women who hang around you like bees round a honey pot “

“Well the Kennard’s cannot help being so attractive “ he pulled his face “Daft thing to say”

It was the first time that they had mentioned the reason that they were at the farm. Tina sighed

    1. Hey AllyE, It is a happy Thursday now that you have posted more of this great story. This chappie was amazing.Tina and Finn sorting through their thoughts and feelings was so loving and tender. They really do look after each other. The cake stealing was precious. Then Tina speaking to Sarah and Bette was interesting especially when Bette stepped in to light the atmosphere and stop Tina and Sarah arguing over Niall’s behavior and actions.Bette and Sarah’s heart-to-heart was brilliant. Given Sarah’s initial reaction to Bette, thsi shown how many she has changed. Sarah sees that Bette is perfect for Tina. She will protect and defend her daugther constantly. Bette will challenge and comfort Tina at every turn.It is great to read such an honest expose of a mother to her daughter’s girlfriend chat. This is all about the acceptance.More please as I feel Niall and Sarah have much to sort out.Ally, as ever you blow me away with your talent.Thank you is so inadequate yet it is heartfelt and truthful,Your Loyal Fan and Friend.

    2. Yes, she is indeed Bette’s girl now and what a girl. Hope Sarah will heed Bette’s advice, she does need an attorney and quickly for her own sake or she will be blindsided again. That girl will make Niall do somethings against Sarah just to have her own way and he is too ignorant to see what will be happening. Good that Tina dn Finn could talk about the farm and what their father is doing. Would love to have shared those scones with them. Love scones with clotted cream and strawberry jam. Delish !!!!!!. Thanks for posting.

    4. “She´s Bette´s girl now” – perfect line. Seems young Gemma might cause a lot of problems – maybe even some for Niall. Thanks for posting.

    5. GREAT chappie Ally. I also hope that Sarah takes Bette’s advice and get a good lawyer, maybe Bette or her mother could recomend someone. I hope that Bette can help open Tina’s eyes to a true picture of her father. Not only was it cowardous how he waited until after he had a child to leave his family, but it is also LOW how he had let Sarah bear the brunt of the children’s rage about their open marriage which he more than willing participated in. As I said before, Sarah deserves credit for at least being honest and open with her children and I hope that it does not take too long for Tina, Finn and Willow to realize this. PPS :o).

    6. Thanks for the update. I’m glad we got to hear Sarah’s perspective of her relationship with her husband. It always seemed unfair to me that Tina placed more of the blame for the open marriage arrangement on her mother. Maybe now she’ll be able to see if more clearly and start building a better relationship with her.
