That night the three girls were waiting drinking their wine.
“So where is your friend?”
“I’m not sure she said she was going to be here.” As soon as she said that Lilly saw her come in.
“Here she comes.” She waves to her and Tina turns around and her breath was taken away for just a second. Bette couldn’t believe how lucky she was to be at a table with such beautiful women especially the blonde.
“Hi I’m so sorry I’m late.” Sadie gets up and gives her a quick peck on her cheek.
“No problem, it’s not like we have to be anywhere right girls?”
“No not at all.” They were both straight but they couldn’t believe how beautiful she was up close.
“Bette, I’d like you to meet my friends Lilly and Tina.”
“Hi it’s nice to meet the both of you and thank you for inviting me to dinner.”
“Come sit have a glass of wine.”
“Thank you”
“So Bette where are you from?”
“Chicago”
“So what brings you out here?”
“I just needed to get away from people I know I guess.”
“We totally get that don’t we girls?”
“Sure do”
“Well Lilly has the largest floral business in L.A., Tina here is a producer for Alphaville, and I am a lawyer.”
“That’s great I see why you ladies need to get away.”
“So Bette what do you do?”
She takes a sip of her wine.
“I’m an art curator.”
“Wow you must have a great passion for art.”
“I guess you could say that.”
“Well my husband is a collector.”
“Is that so Tina, what does he like to collect?”
“I’m not sure but it’s just something he likes to do sort of like his hobby.”
“I see. So what about you Lilly what does your husband do?”
“What makes you think I’m married?”
“Just a guess, especially the wedding ring kind of gives it away, am I wrong?”
“No you’re not, he’s actually a surgeon.”
“Well aren’t you a successful group of people.”
