Bette fixed Matt with a wry smile

Bette zipped up her jacket and headed out to meet Emma for a Christmas shopping spree.
It was almost 7pm when Bette finally arrived back at Tina’s apartment building. She let herself in with the spare key and headed up the stairs. To her surprise the apartment was in darkness when she reached it. She dropped the spare key into the bowl in the kitchen and removed her jacket and went into the living room to remove her boots. Her feet were throbbing – what a long shopping spree that had been. But at least she and Emma had got on well enough and they had stopped frequently for alcohol and a sit down. Bette wondered where Tina was – she checked her phone – no message from her lover that she had missed. Standing up Bette walked into the bedroom to get changed. It was then that she saw her – she was sitting in the dark on the window seat. The moon was out and it was also snowing again which made the sky seem lighter somehow.
“Tina “
“Bette “she was crying
“Babe – what’s happened?”
“Don’t turn the light on “
“Okay “
Bette was starting to panic now – had something happened – was she hurt?
Her CI training kicked in
“Can I sit down beside you?”
“Yes “
Bette sat down on the window seat and reached out and touched Tina’s hand. Just be care Porter – play it how she wants it played – nothing sudden.
“Are you hurt?” Bette said after a few minutes.
“No “
“Has something happened?”
“Fuck yes “
“Is your dad okay?”
“Yeah “
“Okay – are my parents okay?”
“I am not one of your suspects Bette”
Bette exhaled – well yeah – that had been crass
“Sorry “
“No –it’s not your fault. I have had a shock and I am trying to fathom out what the hell it means and what the hell to do “
“Well if you tell me we can figure something out – you have me and I’m going nowhere swear “
“Kate showed up a few hours ago”
Oh God Bette thought – that’s not good
“I thought she was going to be reasonable but she had been drinking – she was steamed Bette”
“I fear the worst”
“I was angry with her and it got out of hand”
“How out of hand?”
“She told me something “
“What?”
Tina’s hand found Bette’s and squeezed it
“At college Emma had an affair with Rosemary – that’s what the feud was about “

Well, that certainly livened up a perfectly dull afternoon!
l guess that was all Kate had left to play, as far as cards go. Bette and Tina need a break from Emma and Kate and their dramas, but Emma has some explaining to do re: the silly demonisation of Melvin. Seeing as they all are trying so hard to bury the past and get along for Tina’s sake and whatever, I’m sure they’ll be over this new revelation in no time at all. Or not, haha..

That bitch, she did not have to bring up stuff that happened when they were in college. If Bette and Tina think about it they will see that Kate is just trying to get the heat off her self and on to anyone else. All the parents got over the indiscretion and went on with life. Kate’s cheating more than once while married trumps Emma being a stupid college kid who hit on and had an afire with a friend who happened to be the girlfriend of another friend, and Bette and Tina though rightfully upset hearing this information should leave it in the past where it should have stayed in the first place. I cannot believe how hateful Kate has become. Emma should go straight to the board of the firm with her evidence and get it over with, Kate deserves no more consideration. PPS
predictable yet unwise of Kate; likely more in keeping with the character; also not surprising, that line veers drama in the story for few chapters more.
WOW. Not surprising, but not cool. For Tina, just another blow from Kate. Just when things were going well with Emma. Probably why Kate told her. Seems like it is a compitition with Kate to make Emma look bad. Feel for Bette too, cause she had no clue. Thanks for all the chapters this week, but now I want more. Don’t keep us waiting too long.

Seems Kate is an absolute BITCH and wants everyone else as misersble as she. She is also very jealous that Tina and Bette are firmly in Emmas corner and she cant get her hands on those papers that were found and she knows she is now screwed to the wall with no future. All she will have left, maybe, is her girlfriend. And all this right at Christmas so it will screw up the holidays for everyone. Hopefully Tins and Bette will understand the timing on this information that kate has decided to divulge and why she has done it. If their parents can live with and get over, they can as well and let kate be miserable by her damned herself and not let her wreck their plans. Thanks for all the updates.

Kate has officially lost her damn mind! She has betrayed everyone that has meant anything to her. I hope Alex is worth all the devastation. She has ruined her daughter’s life, her marriage and her best friendship. What madness! This is a turning point for Bette and Tina.
