Time is slipping away. Life is slipping away.

And we all float down here.

Like soulless sheep waiting for guidance.

    We all float down here.

    Ch 12

Carmen limps toward me. Her eyes are like fire; she is that angry. She looks down at the body, staring at Lara. The wind is blowing into the house. We need to go before any one else shows up. I need to get a call to The Mouth. I move to touch Carmen she moves to leave the house. She takes no clothes. She does not look back. She is kissing this world goodbye.

The gun in my hand suddenly feels very heavy. Heavy like my sudden conscious. Heavy like Carmen’s need for revenge. I walk back out to join her. We had to drive in this storm we have no choice. I do not know where we are heading. I have a place in NYC but it will definitely be wired for my arrival. I need to call The Mouth. She owes me.

I saved her husband’s life….what’s left of it anyway.

Carmen is already in the Land Rover. She looks out the passenger window at the world around her. What does she see? What does she feel? She is now haunted. I can’t find the words to say how bad I feel. It was all fun and games the many creative ways I have put an end to life, but now I don’t know, its quite another thing to see the effect it has on a person.

Especially when the person is as sweet and kind and beautiful as Carmen Morales.

I just like saying her name.

I feel like I can sleep till the millennium comes. But I have a year and half before that happens. I check for supplies incase we get caught. Food? Check. Water? Check. Money? In Carmen’s pockets, which use to be mine. Fuel? Check. They planned for everything my fellow killing sisters. Planned for everything except my ability to move faster than they thought. And the minutes drag………….

And Sister Mary has completely stopped talking to me. She has nothing more to say.

    1. love the way you write. it’s kinda wierd you make totally different stories to the show but characters are same. it feel like i am seeing 2 time zones with same persons in the universe. i’ve copied pages as you updated then i have never bored on going to work. XD thanks

    2. Wow. I love the way you give so much depth to the characters. There’s Carmen, who’s sweet and open, but at the same time she has a troubled past that she’s hiding from. And Shane, a calculating, intelligent machine, who, despite all her training and conditioning, is (somewhere inside) still that orphan who just wants to be taken in and loved. Well, that’s just how I see it, anyway. Also, I like that they both have shady pasts; it pushes the characters and the overall story that much closer to the edge. Awesome job, seriously.
