Shane-

Surprise, Shane mused, leaning lazily against Carmen. Truth please, Shane stated, that actually did surprise everyone but pleased them too, more then shed know.

On a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being the highest ever, how in love have you fallen with Carmen? Alice asked, her question surprising herself as well as everyone else. Shane blushed furiously and hid her face in Carmens hair, smiling like her face was going to split open. Carmen giggle but seem honestly interested in her answer.

Me-eghn, Came her jumbled reply.

What? Everyone asked. Shane lifted her head and sighed happy but defeated all at the same time.

Ten, She said again, her reply coming out softer then shed planed. She blushed again and buried her face in Carmens hair. Everyone awed, shocked silent by her reply. Their Shane was all grown up and had fallen head over heals in love. As much as they where happy, more then one persons protectiveness for their Shane grew in those moments, vowing to make sure Shane was not at risk of getting burned. They were convinced she was safe after seeing the next few moments play out, watching the couple out of the corner of their eyes.

Ay, bebe, te quiero tanto! Carmen whispered lovingly, what she thought was only loud enough for only Shane to hear. Her hands cupping Shanes chin as she rested her forehead on hers. Shanes eyes grew serious even though her happy smile was still on her face. Carmen bit her lip and looked apologetic.

Sorry, she blurted, and giggled, the sound always made Shane feel butterflys in her stomach. She smiled back and pushed her forehead against Carmens, making her sway backwards Shanes fingers where instantly at her back, tickling her gently as she berated her for speaking Spanish to her. Shane had been with Carmen long enough to know what that meant, her fingers finally stopped tickling and her face went soft.

I love you too baby, Shane whispered and placed a feather soft and very thoughtful, kiss to Carmens waiting lips. They hugged each other close again and tried to turn their attention back to the game. Everyone immediately pretended they hadnt been staring- it only partly worked.
