    Seemingly Lost Chptr. 25

Bette had everything in her studio packed and ready to go. Sghe’d spent as much time in there as she needed to.  Their time in L.A. was coming to an end and although she was sad about this final farewell to their friends, homes, and family she knew it was necessary and that they were aonly a phone call and a flight away. Those were the thoughts that brought her some comfort.

She was standing around in her now empty living room staring at a wall that use to house her almost spiritual collection of photos she’d taken of her friends and family. She loved adding new pictures to it every now and then, it made her home feel so much more occupied and full. She didn’t realize how empty it made her living room look until now. In her hands was the last photo she wanted taken down, it was sort of like the hub that got everything rolling for the wall’s birth. Tina walked in and saw her staring at the wall. she knew already what was going through her mind, she missed it to. But again the silver lining was that Bette and Tina had sent them ahead already to Philadelphia and they had the pleasure of putting them up in her new loft on a bigger wall, together.

"I miss it too." Tina stood in the doorway of the kitchen with her hands across her chest watching bette switch back and forth between the photo in her hands and her empty wall.

"Do you remember, you bought me this frame?"

"I do." Tina answered as she walked over to her and gently ran her hands along the framed edges pulling the memory from her mind. she smiled wide.

"We were in that little antique store in New Mexico and you were obsessed with the jackets. I was looking through the stuff on the table in the back…"

"And you almost gave that poor woman a heart attack."

"It was a joke!" Bette defended herself.

"You started screaming at me that you were pregnant with my baby. The seriousness in your face almost made me believe you. How very Erica Kane of you Sweetheart." Tina said in a mocking tone.
