Round n Round We Go (Ch.25 finale)

“Second that!” Michelangelo piped up. “As much as I love my little angel, please, mom, we really need a breather.”

It made the blonde laugh, which induced a cute laughter from the little girl. Bette pouted, kissing her daughter again for consolation. “Oookay.”

“Now you’re really late. You too, Angelo. Say goodbye to Angie and get going already.” Tina started, and took the girl to change her for day care at her gallery—by saying daycare, it was really James and Billy with a small cushion castle, where some toddlers of the gallery employees played together. She escorted the two out despite her disadvantage regarding her height.

There was an important matter she had to attend to at the gallery, nothing related to work, that was, but something she searched really hard for.

Bette spent an uneventful day in her office. Her employees never even knew it was her birthday. To them, she was an ageless goddess, which gave her much contentment. But Alice popped in some time during lunch and teased her about embracing the nature. And gave her a bottle of anti-oxidization facial foam as birthday gift. Bette nearly snarked at her friend, who was quick to dodge out of the office and run for her life.

When it was time for dinner, Michelangelo came back carrying a giant board of watercolor painting. It was a picture depicting Bette with Angelica in the mornings, when the light complimented their identical hair and skin tone perfectly, but also accentuated the different of their eyes.

The woman loved it. She always got a painting from her son on special occasions. But she could never grow tired of it because every single time, he surprised her with the most careful observation on the tiniest details in life. He listened, and he watched, to acquire knowledge of what she loved and what she wanted. Every gift was heartfelt, meticulous, exquisite.

Angelica gifted her a slippery kiss, the grandest gift a 18 month old could think of. Bette requested more, and her wishes were met with enthusiasm.

But Tina was yet to make a gesture. The brunette eyed her up and down for a good long minute during dinner, assessing if she had some wicked idea in mind to celebrate her birthday. There was none.
