    Author Notes:

    Carmen discovery of feelings for her roommate, Shane and Jenny

           Carmen realized how much she changed; Shane’s hair was longer and scruffier. Her eyes where greener or was it because she was wearing eyeliner. She looked good.

     

    Carmen: (smiling) looks like you are thirsty

    Shane: actually, I bought it for us, maybe we can……

    Carmen: (biting her bottom lip) what about jenny, she isn’t going to pop out of the bushes on me is she?

     

            Shane couldn’t believe what four years can do to someone. Carmen was in the best shape of her life.

    She was tanner, toner and her hair softer than ever and longer too, it’s curlier even and lighter. Carmen was relaxing to R&B slow jams that played on the internet radio.

     

    Carmen: want to come in

     

           Shane walked into the foyer of the house

    Shane: nice place, so where’s is your girlfriend

    Carmen: (giggled) Sloan and I are not a couple, Wait, and if she was

    Shane: (setting the wine on the coffee table) nothing, it looks like she takes care of you

    Carmen: we take care of each other.

    Shane: (taking off her sweater) Oh! Right

    Carmen: so what do you want to talk about (sitting on the couch)

    Shane: so how have you been?

    Carmen: as you can see I have been okay and busy with work of course

    Shane: I will say more than okay. (Looking at Carmen she licked her bottom lip) can I say one thing?

    Carmen: what?

    Shane: I have missed you

            Carmen didn’t know what to say, she put her head down as squeezed the bridge of her nose

     

    Carmen: Shane, It has been four years. I don’t think….

    Shane: hear me out Carmen please. I have waited a long time for this moment. I really messed up. When I asked you too… (Paused) but then all these feeling came into place after seeing my father and I know I messed up. I….I would sell my soul to have that day with you again.

     

                Carmen poured the wine into that glass.

    Carmen: well tell me this, if I never walked into the planet.

    Shane: then I would not be here right now. I didn’t come to argue.

    Carmen: how did you hook up with jenny?
