    Danish – Dana gets payback, Alice gets even.

    The sharp pain in Alice’s leg brought her attention right back to the conversation at the table.

    "And so I topped three, no wait four of my five courses that I studied at the end of my final year at college. That wasn’t a big change though, straight A’s all throughout school really…" As Jack’s voice continued to drone on about his achievements and success, Alice realised there was a reason her mind had wandered beforehand.

     

    "You were nodding off before." Dana’s voice was low as she whispered into Alice’s ear. "I thought I’d wake you so you didn’t miss anything."

     

    "Waking me up is one thing," Alice hissed back as she bent down slightly to rub her leg. "Physically hurting me is another. I’ll be lucky if I don’t have a bruise."

     

    "You’ll be lucky if you don’t die of boredom here first," the brunette muttered back, causing Alice to reluctantly nod in agreement. She would have preferred having her eyes gouged out than sit there for another second with plastic Cynthia and arrogant Jack.

     

    "All the while I was captain of the football team. Yes, even though I was academically gifted, I was quite the popular youth as well…"

     

    Dana looked at Jack for a moment in dismay, and then at Cynthia, who seemed to be captivated by Jack’s words. They had both turned out to be the dullest people she had ever encountered, both so stupid and self-absorbed that the thought of ‘getting lucky’ with anyone quickly flew out the window.

     

    "It sure does sound like it," Alice responded enthusiastically. She winked quickly at Dana’s unimpressed expression before turning once more to Jack. "Look, we’d love to stay and chat but I promised Dana I’d spend some alone time with her tonight. Isn’t that right… sweetie?"

     

    Her first thought was to strangle Alice right there on the spot. But once she saw the satisfied smile that graced the blonde’s lips; a better idea came to mind. She wasn’t about to allow Alice the satisfaction of beating her, and the one sure way to crush the blonde was to act along with her plan.

     

    "That’s right honey bun," Dana replied in a sickly-sweet fashion, rising from her chair and pulling a somewhat shocked looking Alice along with her. She weaved her hand around Alice’s waist and pulled her closer, placing a sloppy kiss on her cheek. "So we should get going."

    13. This is sooooo great! The love/hate chemistry is fantastic! I’m so excited to see where this story goes…who will make the first move (okay first real move)? Will there be sneaking around at the office once they are together? Great job and I can’t wait for the next chapter!
