Previously… 

Meanwhile Alice made her way up and down the train, but never came across the vanilla smelling Bette Porter. She reluctantly reentered her cabin. Tina looked up at her expectantly.

“No such luck” Alice admitted with a shrug.

“Oh” Tina said as her head dropped in defeat.

“But we can try again later. It’s not like she jumped off the train mid-motion.”

“That is true” Tina agreed as a smile slowly crept across her face again.

“On the other hand, I did meet this rather good looking British woman, so the search was not a complete waste” Alice said with a smile.

“Oh did you?” Tina teased. “Care to elaborate?”

“In due time roomie, in due time” Alice said returning to her magazine.

Bette had finally made her way back to her cabin after visiting the snack bar on the train. She was still a little wobbly walking on the train and was very happy to finally get back to her seat. She wondered if people actually ever got their train legs. She looked out the window and noticed that the rain had come to an end and the sun peaked slightly out from behind a row of trees in the distance. Today was turning out to be a great day. First she gets an unexpected but very welcomed visitor, and now the weather is finally clearing up. What more could she possibly ask for?

Meanwhile, Helena had drifted off into a light slumber but was rudely awakened when her head bumped against the window. She reached up and rubbed her head looking for any indication of a bump while soothing the pain when the laughter filtered through the walls once again and filled her little area. What on earth could be that funny? She stood up and kneeled on her seat, pressing her ear against the wall. 

She could make out the slight muffle of women’s voices in between bouts of laughter.  She pressed her head closer in hopes of making out some of their words.

Suddenly the train hit a bump on the track causing Helena to bump her head with a considerable amount of force on the wall she was so intently trying to listen through.
