“Dammit!” Alice yelled as she made another unsuccessful grab for a bundle of balloons that had been hung in an impossibly high place in the middle of the main hall of the clubhouse.
“Be careful, Al,” Shane warned, as she put more weight on her side of the ladder in order to stop it from teetering precariously to one side.
“Who the fuck managed to reach up here, anyway?” Alice asked irritably, as she stretched her hand out again to make another feeble grab for the balloons.
“I think Angus got up there a couple hours before the ceremony,” Jenny called out from the other side of the room, as she gathered up the remnants of candles and lilies from the tables.
“Ok, and where is Angus now?” Alice demanded, giving up on the balloons and making her way back down the ladder carefully.
“I think he and Kit went home to put Angelica to bed a couple hours ago,” Shane explained.
“Well, where’s Helena then? She’s taller than me isn’t she?” Alice replied in an exasperated tone, looking up in defeat at the balloons. In her agitated frame of mind, they almost seemed to be mocking her as they swung gently back and forth.
“I thought she was taking care of the caterers,” Shane said with a shrug.
“That’s just great,” Alice retorted sarcastically. “Everyone always disappears for clean-up duty, don’t they?”
“We probably should have hired someone to come in to do this,” Shane said, glancing at her watch and yawning widely. “It’s already 1:30 in the morning, and we’re only halfway through the clean-up. It’s a good thing the caterers took care of the dishes, or else we’d be here until dawn.”
“We volunteered to do it so that Bette and Tina wouldn’t have to pay for anything, remember?” Alice said. “Plus, I didn’t really think it would take this long to get things tidied up,” she admitted as she looked at the disarray in the room.
“At least everyone had a great time,” Jenny said, walking over to Shane and Alice with a large bag full of rubbish. “I think Bette and Tina were really pleased with everything.”

Not like we were totally awaiting this update or anything, noooheewww. Bluemini, if that was cheese, bring it ON. Like give me a lactose overdose. Nothing is cuter than Lace getting caught by the night janitor, that was priceless. And right, Lara, first of all, points for you for saying ‘funny business’ and uhm, yeah, like you’re gonna be able to not grope Alice tonight. Because you know you want to. Mwhwhwhaaa. Oh. Nice. And all the other new developments too, I like the interaction of the gang in your story.
