Reconciliation part 2
Helena and the girls found themselves in their usual corner of the Shark Bar. The plush sectional sofa in the corner gave them the best seats to view who and what was happening throughout the bar and who was coming in through the door. Tina had been begging Helena for some time about reserving the restaurant, Buzz, and the desert bar, Sweet Palate, for the national release party of an important and highly regarded docudrama. The reviews from its playing at Sundance and other film festivals created an excitement for its nationwide release in main theaters and not just obscure local theatre houses.
“Tina, as much as we would love to host the party, it is impossible. We are fully booked that night. I cannot simply cancel everyone’s reservation so you can throw a little party for your film. That would kill our reputation. Some of the reservations are three months old. After such a wait , to ask them to postpone for another month or two…,” shaking her head against the idea Helena added. “I just don’t see this being good customer service. Can’t you just release your movie later? I’m sure we can find another night that would accommodate you.”
Tina pleaded, “Helena, the release is timed to maximize exposure for the Oscar selection committee. We think this film has real potential. It would be an incredible great bonus for Shoalin. Also, you should consider what prestige and attention it would be for your restaurant. This party will give your restaurant attention from the national media. Think about it as free press, free advertising. I’m sure after the party you will be booked out for 6 months.”
“Tina, can we talk about this tomorrow?” Helena responded as she became wary of the discussion and became distracted by a group of very tall, tanned and attractive women entering the bar.
“Helena, I really want you to say yes to this. This is very important to me and to you. This is one of the films Shoalin picked up when you were there.”
Not hearing Tina anymore, Helena responded as she focused in on one tall bronzed beauty with a bright smile to match her bright eyes. Helena brushed her off with, “Tomorrow Tina. Just call Tasha to set up a meeting.”

I forgot last time to comment on how much I absolutely love the name of Helena’s place – The Shark Bar. How appropriate is that! Helena is definitely hungry tonight…she’s not letting anything stop her from getting some action. A woman after my own heart! PPS

Hey Squirl. Love the interaction between Bette and Tina. Helena…well what can one say? I mean seeing some tanned women enter the place just sent her off her rocker. LOL! I loved Alice’s line which cracked me up completely about being yesterday’s trash. ROFLMAOOO!!!! Just struck a funny chord. Thanks for the update! MORE!!!!!!
hey squirl I loved this chapter it was both funny and entertaining. I could so vision Helena checking that girl out like a spider in her web LOL. Bette & Tina’s interaction was ok but booooring lol. Give us some hot Helena action soon please :)

I wrote a comment on your last entry but it didn’t show up. Oh well. A Helena on the prowl is a Helena that I can appreciate. I just wish the show would write a scene like that for her character. And I love how you made Bette and Tina real parents instead of the two on the show who never seem to have a problem finding alone time. So, Squirl speaks Portugese….interesting.
