(The next morning, Bette and Tina dropped Angelica off at Kit’s and then went to see the therapist. While driving to the therapist’s office, Tina was feeling nervous and Bette could tell how uneasy her wife was. Bette took Tina’s hand and squeezed it to comfort her.)

Bette: I know you are nervous, baby. But everything will be ok, I’m here.

Tina: I know but what happens if she does judges me because of my past? Not that I don’t deserve it or anything!

Bette: Hey, there will be none of that! I won’t let any one judge you so you’ll be fine!

Tina: You are my rock, Bette.

Bette (kissing Tina’s hand softly): I’ll always be your rock, you know that.  (For the rest of the way, both were silent and holding each others hands.)

(Several minutes later, Bette and Tina were at the therapist office and met with the receptionist and she asked for Tina to fill out some paperwork beforehand. After fifteen minutes of filling out paperwork, Tina gave the paperwork to the receptionist and the receptionist told her that the therapist would be with her shortly. Tina sat back down and held Bette’s hand tightly, still feeling nervous and a bit queasy.)

Bette (squeezing Tina’s hand): Baby, everything is going to be alright, I’m here and nothing is going to happen to you. You will not be judged, I assure you.

Tina (smiling weakly at her lover): Thanks, B. I’ll be fine.

Bette (smiling back at Tina): I know you will.

(A few minutes later, a young attractive woman came out wearing glasses and a smile across her face.)

Woman: Are you Tina Porter?

Tina (standing up): Yes I am.

Woman (sticking her hand out for Tina to shake): Hi, my name is Patricia J. Gazzera and it is a pleasure to meet you.

Tina (shaking Patricia’s hand): Likewise and this is my partner, Bette Kennard.

Bette (also shaking Patricia’s hand): Hello, Ms. Gazzera.

Patricia: Please call me Patricia and it is a pleasure to meet you both, would both of you like to come in or just you, Tina?

Tina: Actually I would like for Bette to be with me.

Patricia: That is absolute fine, right this way.  (Bette and Tina followed Patricia into her office which was spacious and very immaculate. The books were in order on the shelves and alphabetical. Bette and Tina sat on the couch and Patricia sat in her chair, pulling it close to them.)
