Ready When You Are Ch.12
Bette walked around the side of the cab to open Tina’s door and help her girlfriend out the other side. Tina smiled and accepted the gesture, brushing herself down as Bette walked over to the cab driver to pay.
The couple made their way towards the restaurant. Being the last night of the tournament, the whole city had come alive. Hundreds of women filled the local clubs and bars, but in the midst of the madness, Bette had managed to find them a beautiful, secluded restaurant.
"Wow." Tina smiled as they came to the front entrance.
Wooden tables and chairs adorned the courtyard at the front, candles and lanterns bathing the area in a warm glow. It was perfect.
"Nice huh?" Bette wrapped her arm around Tina’s waist as the blonde looked around to take in the view.
"It’s beautiful Bette." Tina looked up into the brunette’s eyes and smiled.
A small mexican woman came out through the doors to greet them, summoning a handsome young waiter to lead the couple to their table.
"Thank you." Tina looked up at the young man and smiled as he seated them and handed over their menus.
"Any drinks for the ladies?" He asked, beaming at the beautiful couple he’d been gifted the pleasure of serving.
Bette chuckled at the young waiter’s enthusiasm.
"I’ll have a margarita." Tina replied, handing her drinks menu back to the waiter.
Bette raised her eyebrow slightly as she stared at the blonde.
"Make that a pitcher." The brunette winked at the waiter, making Tina chuckle.
"Very nice." The young man said, as he took Bette’s menu and promptly headed back towards the entrance.
Tina gazed around the outside of the restaurant. Only one or two couples occupied the other outdoor tables. The area around the restaurant was quiet, but the lively buzz of the city could still be heard in the distance.
Tina turned her attention back to Bette, who had her head slightly tilted, looking into the blonde’s eyes.
"So." Bette said, placing her hand down on the table.
"So." Tina smiled, gently sliding the brunette’s hand into her own.
"I just wanna say…how great it’s been, being here with you." Bette smiled, softly stroking the back of Tina’s hand.

Wauw I really didn´t expect that call, rather the beginning of a romantic evening. So you like drama, well drama is okay, but not too much, okay. PPS
UGH! How could you do that to us? I was so happy..loving that nice, romantic dinner and then bam..you bring the drama. I hope Tina doesn’t feel the “guilt” PPS
Drama central indeed I’m sure everything will be alright hopefully though tina isnt swayed by her family to live a life without bette simply out if obligation
So, Tina’s father was ill when he called her at 2am, and despite his diagnosis, he offered her no acceptance, but only wanted her to come home so she could be “fixed”. Being at sick doesn’t give one a pass. Being so harsh and saying hurtful things to someone you supposedly love when you KNOW you have a limited time left is just not on. Tina can go back home to say whatever to her father, but I think she should take Bette with her. She should show him how and with whom she’s going to be living her life, who she’s chosen. If he can’t accept her with that, it’s his loss, not Tina’s. Great story, Hardy, thanks for posting.
Do Tina’s parents have some sort of GPS wired to Tina?? How are they always finding her?? lol Sucks that her father is sick, but I hope they don’t try to make her break up with Bette. I think Tina needs to let Bette be there for her, she needs a shoulder to cry on, it’s horrible to be in it alone. Anyway on to the next post, I’m dying to find out what’s gonna happen:)
I just caught up. One step forward and 2 steps back seems to be the theme of life these days. I hope all goes well with Tina and her trip to see her father. I hope for Tina’s sake that he does not make it difficult for and make her promise to change.
Poor Bette and sad for Tina, hope thing will be ok!
Oh man.. drama drama… but you will make it better right :) I hope Tina’s dad acccepts her for who she is. Thank you! Great update :)
Talk about a momentum killer… I really feel for both of them. Tina with her father being ill and being torn between her love for Bette and her family’s lack of acceptance; Bette feeling so close Tina and yet being so far away. Holding out for brighter days ahead!
That sucks!!!!! I hope Tina’s father does not make her feel guilty about being with Bette and has her living a normal, unfulfilled life with someone else. I hope Bette does not get hurt and becomes strong for Tina. Great update. For a minute there, I thought they were going to have a romantic evening. Thanks for crushing my heart. LOL PPS
its really sad to hear about Tina dad but I hope this “making it right” does not fall on Tina’s shoulders as to that equaling living a “”Normal Straight life””.. her dad should be making it right just incase its his time to go!!
how frustrating for Bette and sad for Tina but not necessarily the end for her dad.
