“I love you so much, Bette…I’m really, really sorry for not telling you the truth, baby.” Tina buried her face in Bette’s neck, crying softly. Bette comforted her lover, rubbing her back slowly as she was struggling with her own sobs.

“Shh…I know, Tee, I know. I came back to tell you that I was upset…I’m still upset but I do understand your reasons…and I love you, too,” Bette gazed into Tina’s beautiful hazel eyes, letting their special connection confirm the truth about her feelings.

“Why do I sense that but is coming?”

“No buts, Tina…” Bette leaned closer for another kiss and the passion consumed them again, even more powerful than before. Bette felt so much excitement and love that she was powerless to stop herself. Heat and passion was radiating from her body bringing them both to unimaginable heights.

“I love you, Tina,” Bette whispered and collapsed against the blonde. They kept clinging to each other as Bette stroke her lover’s hair and placed small kisses on her neck and face. She finally felt Tina relaxing against her, her chest moving steady as she was slowly dozing off. Bette tried to stay absolutely still until she was sure Tina was fast asleep.

Bette could smell a faint scent of Tina’s favorite shampoo mixed with something sweet that was uniquely Tina’s. The blonde curled up by Bette’s side, breathing evenly and Bette watched her beloved sleeping, memorizing every little adorable thing about her. The way Tina’s eyelashes moved when she was dreaming; the way she would sigh quietly sometimes; or the way Tina’s feet would twitch sometimes as if she was running away from something.   

Bette sighed and whispered again, “I love you more than anything, Tee,” as she leaned over and gently kissed Tina’s forehead. She watched Tina for a few more minutes not saying anything else. Finally she glanced at her watch and saw that it was getting late.

Bette quietly got off the bed trying not to disturb Tina and went downstairs, dressing on a way. She got into her car and dialed Alice’s number as soon as she pulled away from their driveway.

“Al, I need your help. I’ll pick you up in a few.”
