Out of Closet (B&T time-travel romance), Ch. 47

“Yes, because none of the furniture items were specified in the deed. It simply stated that the new owner will pay extra $3,000 for all the furniture and she is at liberty to do whatsoever she wishes with it,” the lawyer replied, trying to explain the situation.

“Is there anything we can do to get this chest?”

“If the new owner of the house doesn’t care or doesn’t object, you can just simply ask her if you could have the contents of that chest, especially if it contains some family memorabilia or valuables.”

Tina hung up the phone and sighed.

“Is something wrong?” Bette asked, puzzled by Tina’s expression.

“Nothing that we can’t handle, baby,” Tina said cheerfully, giving Bette a hug. “Ready for work? I’m going to drop you off today because I want to pick you up later and take you to a fancy dinner…just me and you.”

Place: Los Angeles, CA – B&T house

    Year: March 4, 2006 – Saturday

“Are you ready for another trip?” Tina asked excitedly one morning.

“Where are we going?” Bette replied, getting ready to go to the Planet for breakfast with the gang.

“Chapel Hill, North Carolina,” Tina said casually, smiling at Bette.

“Where?” Bette stopped combing her hair and looked at Tina questionably but seeing the blonde’s smile she finally understood, “You mean…?”

“Yep,” Tina winked and smiled again.

“Wow,” Bette uttered, absolutely speechless for a minute. After she processed this thought, she asked nervously, “Do you think that my paintings are still there? Untouched and undamaged?”

“I’m not sure, sweetie. I wasn’t able to get hold of Mrs. Parker who owns the house now but my friend told me that she bought our house through the bank that was dealing with the sale on our behalf. She’s an older lady and is living alone so I doubt that she would climb the stairs to check out the dusty attic.”

“When are we leaving?” Bette asked eagerly, thrilled by the news.

“Next weekend…do you think Franklin could spare you?”

“I’m sure he could survive without me for couple of days,” Bette shrugged her shoulders, seating down on the edge of the bed, “The next exhibit is scheduled for May and I already have all the artists lined up.”

    1. Alice needs something in her life to occupy that brain of hers. I would think that after all this time together and as close as they’ve been, Bette would know Tina better than she knew Christina and visa versa. I’ve got a feeling some drama is coming our way soon….right B&TF??? Super update!

    2. I KNEW I had missed a chapter. It hit me an hour ago and, rather than going to sleep at 2 a.m., I had to go to the site, hunt it down, and read. They are getting closer to some answers, right? Not too close, though. I want there to be many more chapters. Lots and lots more. Hundreds even. Sorry I lost track for a couple of days. Bad bad Spumoni. Please post soon.
